" I get the feeling that Jack was just trying to fast talk us.." Sora says, leaning on a barrel on the ship. I snort.
"Finally catch on to that, mate?" He blinks innocently.
"So it really isn't for the bravest of pirates?" I roll my eyes.
"Nope." I look over to Blair, who pulls out my ipod when we make eye contact.
"What is that?" I draw my sword "Is it explosive?" Please let this work.
"It plays music, idiot." Donald smacks her on the head and I smirk.
"Give him a break, Blair! they don't have that sort of technology here." I put my sword away.
"Damn foreigners." I mutter and Cali smiles at me from across the deck.
"They're taking a long time, maybe we should go check on them. I mean, if Pete's here, that means heartless are here. They've never fought heartless before, they have no idea what they're up against!" Sora suggests and Cali and I block the exit.
"You have direct orders to protect the ship." Cali glares and Sora returns it.
"Don't you care about your captain?" I draw my sword.
"Don't you care about your life?"
"Ray, Calm down." Cali holds her hand up to me and I put my sword away. "They've got a point, mate. Maybe we should go see if the captain is alright." As we reach the entrance of the cave, Will and a woman come running out.
"Quick! They're after us!" Pirates begin to come out of the cave.
"Go get the ship ready, we'll hold them off. Give us a sign when it's ready." Will nods and dashes off to the ship. Cali and I follow them, full well knowing Sora and Blair could handle pirates with one hand tied behind their back.
"Ow! Shit." I hear Sora call from his fight. My eyes widen in fear. Was he hurt?
"The ship is ready, fire the flare gun!" Will calls and I grab the pistol, shooting the flare into the sky. The group quickly makes their way to the ship. I notice Sora's limp. I reach for a potion, but Blair already had one prepared. Sora sighs.
"I'm sorry Blair.. you shouldn't have to do that." Blair gives him a sad smile.
"Just picking up Rea's slack." He returns the sad smile and I snap my head out to the water.
"Where's the captain?" Cali asks.
"Well.. I hit him on the back of the head with an oar.. because he didn't want to rescue Elizabeth." I growl and he glares at me "I had to! Jack is no fairy-tale pirate, the real ones aren't to be trusted!" Will takes steer of the ship and we head back to Port Royale.
"Will, when you were in that cave, did you see a tiny girl with silver hair?" Will shakes his head and Sora frowns.
"I'm afraid the only woman there was Elizabeth. Was there someone you're looking for?" I stare at them from the corner of my eye. Sora turns away and leans on the edge of the boat.
"Just a friend.." Cali looks at me then approaches Sora.
"If she's just a friend, then why do you care?" Sora glances at her before turning back to the water.
"She's my best friend.. I never thought she'd do what she did." he sighs "I promised I'd help her, I cant do that if she isn't here."
"Here? As in, here in port royale?" Sora shakes his head.
"Here as in.. here with me." I chew the inside of my cheek and stare out at the water, my heart just as lost at sea as I was.
"Excuse me, Ray? Is there a bed below deck I could lay in for a bit?" I turn to Blair and sigh before leading her downstairs. I turn the corner and she pushes me against a wall. She stares at me, her pink eyes raging. "You cant trick me, I know that's you." She knocks off my hat and rips off my bandana. "Same color hair.. but you cut it." I sigh.
"If this is about your friend, mate, I'm afraid to tell you I'm indeed a male." She snorts.
"Bullshit, Rea." She slides her hand down the buttons of my white shirt, my heart pounds. I thank god for Cali's magic. She stares at my pecs boredly "You've always been flat chested." Bitch.
"Must I show you my privates to convince you I'm male?" Did I have male..pieces down there? I haven't really checked.
"Blair?! What the hell are you doing?" Sora stares wide eyed. I look to Sora.
"Help.Me." Sora pulls her off me and she glares.
"I swear to god, Sora. That's Rea. Look at the eyes!" My heart pounds as his beautiful blue eyes make contact with mine. He stares long and hard, trying so hard to read me. He probably could, I had no walls built up.
"I'm sorry about Blair, she hasn't slept since our friend went missing. It's obvious she needs it." She hadn't slept? "Cmon, Blair. You should rest." Had I done this?
"SORA!" A loud crash shakes the ship. Sora releases Blair and heads up to the deck.
"Hold that thought!" Sora yells as he rushes upstairs, I button up my shirt as Blair and I follow him. There were pirates aboard, circled around Will and Elizabeth. Donald and Goofy were fighting off others and Cali was manning a canon.
"Catch!" Elizabeth shouts as she tosses a medallion to Sora, who tucks it in his pocket. The pirates turn to him and I draw my sword, immediately covering Sora's back. He seems surprised for a moment but begins fighting. He had believed that I wasn't Rea, but I wasn't exactly helping my case.
"Firaga!" Sora shouts. Firaga.. That one was new. He must really be training. Part of me begged to see if I could cast that spell, but if I was from Port Royale, magic didn't exist.
"Pansy" The pirate spits at me and I feel myself clench my sword tighter. "Some pirate you are, midget." He stared at my eyes, his smirk fading. I took a step towards him and he backed up more and more, finally out of the moonlight. I dig my blade into his stomach.
"Who's the pansy now, dickhead?" I pull my blade out and watch his body disappear. I roll my neck in rage and hear it crack. I sigh and hear Goofy let out a cheer.
"We beat the pirates!" Sora smiles confidently.
"Did you now, Laddie?" We snap our attention behind us. Barbossa stood with a few pirates, one holding Jack, the other Elizabeth. I make eye contact with Jack and he giggles nervously, more pirates arriving on our ship. If he wasn't so sexy, I'd hate him.
"Now then, I'll be taking that medallion, unless it's more important than their lives?"
"Barbossa!" Will is standing on the edge of the boat, a gun pointed at the pirate. "Set them free." Barbossa laughs.
"Go ahead boy! Shoot! We cant die." Will moves the gun to his head.
"No, but I can. My name is Will Turner, my father was bootstrap Bill Turner, his blood runs through my veins." Barbossa gasps "On my word, do as i say or I'll shoot and be lost in Davy Jone's locker!" Barbossa growls.
"Name your terms.. Mr. Turner." Will looks over to Elizabeth.
"Let Elizabeth free.. and Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Blair!" Oh you punk ass, just because I'm a pirate?
"Anything else?"
"Leave now." Barbossa signals for his pirates to get off the boat.
"fine, but the heartless stay." I hear a familiar laugh and I see Pete knock Will unconscious and run off with the other pirates. I feel arms wrap around me and I struggle, being dragged down below deck. I see Sora being dragged down the stairs in front of me.
"Oh fuck this." I mutter, struggling to get out of my rope. Sora is thrown beside me and we watch the pirates quickly leave.
"They've set this thing to blow." Jack says, cutting his rope open then tending to everyone else's. I free myself. "Go take care of those kegs!"
"Aye aye!" I quickly run up the stairs and see the first barrel set to explode. I grab my canteen from my side and dump some water on the wick, the fire dying. Sora approaches me. I stare wide eyed "Get it off the deck, I'll go put out the flames."
"Y-Yes." He begins lifting and I head up to the top deck, letting out two more flames and seeing how many were left. Jack had the ones covered on the left side. Donald took two down at the end of the ship, and Cali and Blair were lifting one off the edge of the left. Sora meets me and I point to the only barrels we had to throw over deck. He nods and we head over, helping each other lift them off. As we throw the final barrel overboard, Sora and I make eye contact. He reads me more closely than normal. "Do what you have to." He makes his way back down to the others. Was he talking to me? Ray or Rea? He thought I wasn't me.. didn't he?
Jack brings the ship back to Isla De Muerta, and after a quick promise and demanding that Elizabeth guards the ship, we run into the cave and stop Barbossa.
"Ahoy, treasure, mateys!" Sora says as he runs in. Head first and with a horrible line, as usual.
"Not possible!" Barbossa growls.
"Not PROBABLE." Blair smirks.
"We're back, and we're pirates!" Donald shouts.
"So you want to play pirate? Best save the playacting for the nursery. Get them!" After quite a few pirates, and Jack going after Barbossa, the room is cleared except for Barbossa.
"No more playacting!" Will makes his way to Sora, giving thanks.
"Sora.. where's Jack?" Goofy asks, and we hear swords clanging. If that old piece of trash kills that sexy man, I will slit his dead throat.
"Get him, Jack!"
"Huh?" Jack turns his head and Barbossa bring his sword into Jack's stomach.
"ASS!" I scream.
"You're a fool, Jack Sparrow!" Jack stumbles back and his body transforms as he steps into the moonlight. I gasp as his true form is revealed. A corpse. Just like the others. He raises his hand and rolls a medallion around his fingers. Barbossa growls.
"Show yourself, Pete! The tides have changed."
"See? I told ye you'd be needin old Pete" Pete whistles and a large iguana like heartless appears. "Girls, time to work." Cali snaps and I feel my wardrobe change back to my dark outfit. My hair cascades down my shoulders and I stare wide eyed at Sora. He knew all along, it was obvious on his face.
"I didn't want to believe it.." I feel a shove as Blair walks past me.
"To bad it's true." I feel Donald and Goofy's glare, then followed by Blair's. My eyes water up as I stare at Sora, he refused to make eye contact.
"Aren't you going to glare too?" I let some tears fall "I'm a traitor!" He grips his keyblade as he stares down at the ground. "Don't you hate me?.. Look at me, dammit!" He finally brings his blue eyes up to mine.
"Do what you have to.." He turns and chases after Pete. Donald and Goofy turn and fight the heartless, Cali goes after Jack and Will, and I'm left standing with Blair. I shake as the tears fall from my eyes and she looks at the ground for a moment.
"Get out your weapon." I shake my head.
"I cant fight you.."
"I said GET. OUT. YOUR. WEAPON." Her words sting and I summon my keyblade, the key chain gone. She grips her keyblade tight and comes charging at me. I do nothing to defend myself, I couldn't hurt her. I just couldn't. I didn't even know my own strength anymore, I wasn't me. I feel the air get knocked from me as my back hits the ground. Blair glares down at me, her keyblade raised. She stares me in the eyes, her own watering up. I close my eyes as I see her bringing her keyblade down. I hear the contact, but I don't feel it. I open my eyes slowly, seeing Blair leaning forward on her keyblade. Instead of in me, it was in the ground beside me. A tear falls from her eye and lands on my chest. "If you EVER lie to me again.. My blade wont be hitting the fucking ground." She glares for a second before rising, pulling her keyblade from the ground and helping Donald and Goofy get the final hits on the heartless.
"Girls! The mission's been compromised. Return to the castle!" Pete shouts, startling Sora. Cali lifts me up and drags me towards Pete. As I pass Sora I feel his disapproving look. I stare up at him, tears still falling.
"I'm so sorry.." He looks to the ground and my chest hurts a bit more. I elbow Cali and free myself from her grip. I lift Sora's chin up to get him to face me, his blue eyes wide. "Thank you.." I whisper. "for not hating me.. thank you.." My necklace flashes and I place my lips on Sora's cheek at the last second, making contact before the last flash sends me back to the castle. I collapse onto the floor and let the tears fall freely, not particularly caring who saw.
"Get up, you weak child." Maleficent's voice sounds angry. I look up at her, rage clear on my face.
"Don't call me weak, you pathetic witch!" She quickly approaches me and grabs my chin, her nails digging in.
"Listen to me, you see that necklace you're wearing? So long as you wear that, I own you. If you so much as think of leaving me, that necklace will explode, and it wont be pretty for you. Understood?" Her black eyes glare at me. "UNDERSTOOD?" I spit on her, my saliva hitting her cheek. She screams and throws me to the floor, exiting the room. Cali appears above me, a hand held out.
"You've got one hell of a jab there, Rea." I sigh and take her hand, rubbing my chin as I stand.
"Sorry about that.." I wipe my eyes and she shrugs.
"I knew you didn't want to be here.." Cali exits the room and I let out a sigh. I REALLY didn't want to be here. I lift a hand to my lip, gently dragging my finger across my lips.
"Show me Sora" I whisper, placing my hands on the orb. I had to know if he was alright. Sora appears on the orb, they were outside the cave.
"Will!" Elizabeth embraces her lover and Sora lifts his hand to his cheek. I feel my face get hot.
"Good for them." Sora says, staring at the couple with a smile.
"Aw, you're getting all red, Sora!" Donald snickers. Blair smirks at him.
"I know who you're thinking about~" Sora covers his face with his hands.
"It is not red!!" Jack takes out his compass and it glows brightly, and I watch Sora lock another door. I let out a sigh of relief and pull my hands off the orb. I close the door behind me and lean on it for a moment.
"Hey, heard your mission sucked." Hikaru smirks with crossed arms. I push off the door and make my way to my room.
"I don't know what you're talking about." He chuckles.
"Well considering Maleficent assigned me in place of you for your next mission, I'd say you do." I stop in my tracks and Hikaru barely stop in time not to collide me and I turn on my heel, glaring up at him. He jumps in surprise.
"You listen to me, and you listen to me good. You are not to harm a single hair on Sora's head, and if you do I will personally make sure you don't live to see the light of another day. GOT IT?" Hikaru gets a serious look on his face.
"Sounds like you like him."
"Sounds like you're jealous." I snap back. He scoffs.
"I wont harm 'a single hair' on your precious boyfriend's head." Hikaru shoves his hands into his pockets and walks off. I chew the inside of my cheek.
"Good." I hear the door beside me open and Mikoto drags me into her room. "Nice to see you too." She shushes me.
"Listen to me Rea, that isn't the same Hikaru you knew in 9th grade. He's.. different. I've seen him so many times in this last week and he hasn't recognized me once. He wont leave his stupid pet heartless' side, and he's WAY too willing to obey Maleficent. It's almost like he LIKES her." I scoff.
"He's just a wuss and doesn't want to get hurt." Mikoto shakes her head.
"I'm telling you Rea, he seems fake." I sigh and take a seat on her bed.
"Whatever, I don't want to think about it right now, okay? I've had a rough day." I rub my eyes with my freezing hands.
"I know.." she sighs " I was watching." I scoff.
"Do you watch me all the time on that thing?" she shrugs.
"Well.. yeah, pretty much. Maleficent showed me it, might as well use it." I laugh sadly "I even saw you cuddling Sora." she winks and I groan, laying back on the bed.
"We do not say his name here. Do you know how hard it was to leave?" She takes a seat beside me.
"You.. didn't have to leave, you know." I scoff.
"Funny."
"Seriously!" I sit up and stare hard at her.
"Mikoto, no matter how many friends I make, no matter how many things stand in the way, You will always be the most important thing in the world to me. You're my little sister and my BEST friend. Don't you even think for two seconds that anyone would come before you in my life." A small smile comes to her lips and she stares down at the floor.
"I kinda like the outfits she makes me wear." I look down to her black dress, lined with pink ribbons and bows.
"It looks good on you." She snorts.
"I don't know about that mini skirt though." I let out a laugh.
"I'll be switching to shorts VERY soon." I hear a knock on the door and look to Mikoto. She shrugs.
"come in!" Cali enters with a piece of paper in hand. She hands me the paper and I look up at her.
"It's a schedule. Since Hikaru is taking your next mission, you wont have to go to another world until Halloween Town next week. But you might have to do things around the castle. Definitely train." I nod and Cali heads out. I stare at the paper. They wouldn't be facing Sora again until Agrabah in three days.
"Wait Cali!" i shout and she appears back at the door. I bite my lip.. "Could you.. you know.." She smiles.
"I'll go easy on 'em." I give her a sad smile.
"Thanks."
