Remember before-- when I mentioned this castle was freaking creepy?
Well, it just got freaking CREEPIER.
Somehow, the stone statue on the door to the dungeon came alive into a heartless and began slamming its hands at us. If I hadn't peed my pants before then, I surely must have at that moment, because that scared the HELL out of me-- but it seemed to come as no surprise to the rest of the group. Maybe I live too much of a sheltered life.
At least-- I'm starting to prove it to myself, because the most I seem to contribute to this group is limited magic and healing. I feel like a nuisance. Maybe they'd be better off just leaving me somewhere safe and saving the world's by themselves.
"Rea, you coming? The dungeon's down here!" My teal eyes move from my shoes to the door at the top of the stairs where a worried Sora stares at me. "You alright?" I put my hands up and laugh nervously.
"Just thinking, is all." I hurry to the door and start down the stairs "Thanks for caring, though. It's... comforting, I suppose."
Sora joins me at the bottom of the stairs and pats me on the back. "Of course I care, we're friends aren't we?" He offers me a wide smile and I cant help but return it. Sora looks around and frowns "There's nobody here." He puts his hand on his chin and Donald sighs.
"You mean there's no one to rescue?" My eyes glance at the randomly placed objects on the floor. A candle holder. A teapot and matching cup. A clock? On the floor? Did the movers get lazy? "Did Belle try to throw us off the trail of something else? Was it a distraction and not a rescue?"
"Did someone say rescue?"
"Shhh! It might be THEM."
"Oh, they look like nice boys to me." My eyes narrow and I clear my throat.
"And girl." I finish.
Goofy smiles. "We are nice, we're your friends." He looks to Sora, not seeing anyone in the room. "Belle sent us to find you."
I watch as the objects in the room make their way towards us, which at this point, should not surprise me. I sit to reach their level, Sora joins me.
"I'm Sora, this is Rea, that's Donald, and that's Goofy" We all give them warm smiles, though I feel a bit odd smiling at something that is normally an inanimate object. "I'm glad you all are okay."
The candlestick waves his arms at Sora. "But Monsieur, It is us who are overjoyed to see you!" I turn and see Donald playing with the small clock and let out a small giggle, seeing his distressed face.
I pick up the small teacup who gives me a sweet smile. My eyes widen and soon I feel my throat release a squeak. "You're so cute," I coo, the teacup becomes embarrassed and hops off my hands, giving me a final flustered but happy look before hopping back over to his matching teapot.
Goofy scratches his head and asks, "Did someone put a spell on you guys too?" The clock, who was now free of Donald's grasp, clears his throat.
"Yes that's right! You've heard. It was the enchantress." He hops up onto a chair, "It was a cold winter's night.. and an old beggar woman came to the castle doors, asking for shelter. The Prince at the time-- he was well, spoiled. He turned her away just because of her... ahem, meager appearance."
"That's awful!" Goofy says. I feel a frown come to my face, this reminded much of those storybook fables with an important message.
"Oui, The prince was very selfish. Very, how shall I say... Cruel." The small clock gasps, insulted by the candle stick saying such terrible things about their master.
