I trotted downstairs, yawning as I walked into the kitchen to make coffee. I slumped against the counter while I stirred and than drank slowly.
"Morning," I heard a voice rom behind me. I looked back at saw Brianna. She rubbed her eyes and smiled at me. I smiled back at the young female.
"Sleep well?" I asked her. I thought I'd heard movement from downstairs during the night and I just assumed it was Brianna tossing and turning.
She groaned softly and shrugged at me.
"Tossed and turned a little. I guess I'm not used to sleeping without Lucas anymore," she said with a small smile. I nodded at her, understanding exactly what she meant.
"Tell me about it. Feels so empty, doesn't it?" I said. She nodded at me and trotted over. She out of the blue hugged me.
"Thank you for being here for me," she whispered to me. I smiled as I hugged her back. I waa glad that she was safe and happy. Seeing her so upset was heartbreaking.
When she pulled away, I sighed and sipped on my coffee. I heard Liam coming downstairs and Brianna pulled away as she stretched her arms.
"So how's today going to work?" Brianna asked. Liam came over to me and kissed my forehead before starting to make his own coffee.
"I'll go get Mira and bring her back here. By the time I come back, everyone else should be here and we'll discuss a plan," I said. I looked to Liam and he nodded, confirming my plan even further. I nodded to myself.
"Brianna, we're deciding to keep Lucas here. He needs to stay with you," Liam said. Brianna raised her eyebrows in shock, but I saw the excitement and relief in her eyes.
"You are? Oh, thank the moon. You have no idea how badly I wanted you to keep him here with me," Brianna breathed out with her hand on her chest. A small smile appeared on Liam's face.
I nodded at her and sipped again on my drink.
"He'll probably be pissed, so it'll be up to you to calm him down," Liam reminded her. She nodded quickly.
After drinking coffee and quickly eating a muesli bar, I showered and dressed. I put on leggings and a hoodie to be comfortable and then slipped on sneakers. I tied my hair back into a messy bun and then headed back downstairs.
"You leaving now?" Liam asked me. I nodded at him as I checked on Brianna who was sitting on the couch watching television. She still seemed upset about the Lucas situation. I knew it was best for her to have Lucas stay.
"Keep an eye on her, and call everyone to come over so when I get back, they'll all be here," I told him. Liam nodded at me and then cupped my chin with his hand.
"When all of this shit is over, I'm gonna take you somewhere real nice for a while," Liam told me softly. I smiled at him as my heart and whole body warmed.
"Sounds like a plan," I whispered back. He chuckled deeply and kissed me softly.
His kiss didn't last long as he pulled away quickly. He flicked my nose and turned around, starting to make breakfast. I smiled to myself at how happy I was with him.
"Bri, I'm going to get Mira now. Liam will stay with you and the others will all be here before I get back. I'll see you soon," I called to her. She turned around and smiled at me as I left the house.
