I walked down the stairs, hugging my coat to my a little tighter. It was cold outside, but Jenny had specifically instructed that I had to dress to impress if I wanted to look the part for the city.
She'd helped me pick out my outfit; a tight fitted black dress that showed my long legs and cleavage. She'd also found the tallest pair of heels that I owned and forced me to wear them. But because I wasn't insane, I grabbed a long and stylish coat that I had that covered most of me. It was warm and comforting.
It made me feel a little better about going out to the city where I'd see so many humans.
They made me anxious. Just thinking about them gave me chills. Humans were so strange.
"If the vampires don't kill me, these heels will. My feet already ache," I complained as I walked over to Jenny. I held up my leg and stared down at my feet. I'd much rather wear sneakers.
"If I hear you complaining all night, I'll kill you myself," Ezra said, winking at me playfully. I rolled my eyes at him and giggled a little.
"We should get going. It'll take a while to get to the city and we don't want to outstretch our stay there," Ezra said. I nodded in agreement and I grabbed the map from the dining table and shoved it into my pocket. I looked around.
Most had left the house already. Kade, Quo and Alfie all had trainings or meetings to get to and didn't want to late. It would only make things suspicious.
Brianna was sat on our couch, gazing longingly at the ceiling. She'd been in a terrible mood after Lucas had stormed out. Apparently he'd really gotten mad when he showed up before any of the other guests did, punched Liam in the face and then ran.
I made note to punch him in the throat when I saw him next.
"You gonna be okay?" I asked Brianna as I walked into the room. I smiled at Cass who was sat with her. She'd said goodbye to Leon already, grumpily tearing herself away from him.
She didn't want him to leave, but she knew he had to go. Brayleigh didn't even think twice about denying Kade to go. She was sat on the couch too, braiding her own hair.
"Yeah. Us three girls will look after your house for you while you're not here tonight," Brianna nodded. I giggled and nodded.
"I can't make any promises about not throwing any parties," Brayleigh said playfully. I shot her a stern look but then giggled and gave away my fake angry look.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever, losers. I'll see you all later," I said as I turned around and headed to the door. Everyone was waiting outside.
Ezra had gone to get his truck while I was getting ready. Apparently it'd been stuck in mud and it ended up needing a few of the guys to push it out the bog.
"Pussycat cold?" Bodie teased as I walked up to him. I growled lowly at him and he only chuckled. I flipped him off and shook my head.
"Shut up," I scolded.
"Where's Liam?" I asked. Leon turned and motioned to where the second car was sitting. We needed two cars if we wanted to get to the city without squashing everyone into one car.
"Alright. Let's go. I'm going with Liam," I said, beginning to make my way towards his car, treading carefully on the mushy mud and grass.
"Hold on," I heard Liam tell me. I stopped and looked up as he got out the car. He shut the door and raced over. What? Had something gone wrong?
