Castor's father noticed the knife on Kassandra's back and did a double take, "That weapon.... May I see that for a moment?"

Katsandra drew her knife, "This thing? Sure."

She passed the weapon to the man and after studying it for a moment he murmured, "It is the same knife..."

"What do you mean?" Katsandra asked.

The man looked up, "My family was large and many of us were adventurers. This knife was found by one of my ancestors. Like those swords, we didn't want it, so we added it to a reward from a previous request in the desert. How did it come into your possession?"

"Our friend, a sand mage named Max, gave it to Katsandra," Aviana explained.

The man nodded and handed the knife back to Katsandra, "I see so the young man from back then gave it to you. Come with me a moment, we found a book relating to the magic properties of many of the weapons my family procured during their adventures. There is a reference to that knife." He leads them to a small house. Once inside, he made his way to a bookshelf and removed a small, leatherbound book. He flipped through it then turned it to show them. Sketched on the page was Katsandra's knife.

Cain leaned forward and read the caption, "'The Cat's Eye Blade: Not much is known about this knife, but according to the locals of this region it has incredible magic, but one must be a cat or have cat-like abilities to activate it." He looked up at Katsandra, "Well, I think you fit the requirements. Have you noticed anything?"

Katsandra was staring at the blade, "Yes, I have. During the Phantom Lord incident, while everyone was fighting the Shades, I attempted to help, but this blade did not have any effect on them. So I wished I could be of some help. Then one of the Shades attacked me and when I swung at it, the ruby eyes on the hilt glowed and the blade not only grew a little longer, but it had a fiery purple aura around it."

"So, when that happened the blade worked on the Shade?" Aviana asked.

Katsandra nodded, "And it remained that way until Fairy Law activated. I didn't know what was going on so I didn't say anything. It hasn't happened since."

Castor's father looked at the book again, "I don't know if Cain missed this, but it says here that The Cat's Eye Blade is capable of transforming into other weapons depending on its wielder's needs in combat. It's also capable of magic to fight or defend against other magic spells."

Katsandra unstrapped the blade and offered it to Castor's father, "If it has that much power it should be returned to your family."

The man shook his head and closed Katsandra's paws around the blade, "No, none of us can use it. I want you to keep it. Use it wisely."

Katsandra's eyes widened, "Thank you very much, sir." she said then swung the knife back onto her back.

Castor came over from another shelf, "Father, I found another book that talks only about The Cat's Eye Blade. I feel we should send it with her so that she can learn more about the weapon she now wields."

His father nodded, "Of course," he took the book from Castor and handed it to Katsandra, "I hope that blade serves you well."

Katsandra took the book and nodded, "It already has." Then she turned to Aviana and Cain, "Do you guys think we could take the long way back and walk so that I can train with this as we go?"

"I don't see why not," Aviana said, "Plus it gives Cain and I opportunities to train and talk as well."

Castor's mother stepped forward, "I can show you the quickest way out of town."
