The Water Dragon Slayer Soars

Hey Everyone,

So as you saw in the last chapter we're entering the Edolas Arc. I'm just gonna say it, I HATED this arc at first. Carla was the main reason why due her actions towards Happy and how she seemingly betrayed Natsu and Wendy (Sorry for the spoiler but if you're reading this then I'm assuming you know the anime/manga). As the arc when on it did get better as I began to understand Carla's actions and resolve some of my other issues with it, but due to this burning hatred for the first few episodes of the arc I hit a major roadblock in my writing. I didn't want Aviana to feel like Katsandra had betrayed her in any way or to be wandering and confused like Natsu and Wendy were for a majority of the arc. As such we will not see as much of the arc as some of you might have hoped. I will be writing Aviana's adventures during it but she will be working alongside Gajeel. His part is more subtle and I feel like this would benefit Aviana since I don't want to write about the arc at all but I know it's a major part of the timeline. Plus since Aviana knows the dragon slayers past and remembers Gajeel it's a good opportunity for me to rebuild her connection with him that he forgot.

If you have ANY suggestions on how I can make the this story shine while dealing with the part of my resource material (The original manga) that I dislike please let me know in the comments. Edit: Change of Plans. She's gonna helping Mystogan. Seeing as he's more of a loose cannon in all this I'll have her work with him until he sends the Lacrima back to Earthland and then she'll rejoin the others for the final battles. This gives me a lot of freedom in an arc I dislike so I feel like this is best for me as a writer. It also allows me to dive more into what I believe is Mystogan's character which we don't really see until this arc
