I was walking towards the cafeteria, and I saw the populars, circled around and laughing at something. One of them noticed me and shouted "Hey,look! It's the Alien!" They all stared for a moment and then continiued with their laughing. I was surprised, normally they would NEVER miss a chance to tease me. I had to see what was going on. Now it all made sense. Everybody was teasing and swearing at Annie, the deaf girl. She didn't hear any of it,of course, but she sure knew what they were up to. I pushed the crowd and saw her being pushed around in the middle. I knew that I had to do something, but what?
Normally,I would not be able to do this, but I took a deep breath and dived into the middle of the crowd and just stood there in the very middle, staring at every one of them dead in the eye. "Out of the way,Alien!" Stacey yelled. "Be careful,or she will zap you with her supernatural powers!" "I guess the Alien wants to join the fun!" Sam mockingly said. All of a sudden, all the boys left Annie alone. Just when I was about to take a deep sigh of relief,I saw all the kids, slowly coming towards me,with wickedly crooked smiles spread on their faces. My skin went pale,my fingers ice cold. All I could do was close my eyes and wait to be beaten up. Suddenly,I heard a loud moan, and saw that Sam has fallen to the ground, unconscious. I looked at Annie. Her face was just as pale as mine, her knuckles bloody. That moment,I understood that she was the one who punched Sam. She had saved me.
