When I woke up in the morning, Annie was watching the news. Probably because there was no other channel. I suddenly saw her mouth gaping open. She dropped the remote and looked at me. She asked me if I knew the person on TV. I knew her pretty well,it was ME that she was talking about. I was on TV.
I started watching, suddenly showing a lot of interest. " This is Henry Welsh and you are watching Calliney news. Today we got information about a 16-year-old,Lilac C. that has been kidnapped in the middle of the night. Here is what her mom had to say:"I saw her two hours after her friend had commited suicide. I went to her room to say goodbye, but then... she wasn't in the room...she...she...has autism and is unable to do anything by herself." What? No! This must be some bad dream, maybe if I sleep it would go away! It was no dream. She had just told the news guy,on TV that I had autism, and couldn't do ANYTHING by myself! And I was 15 and A HALF years old. Come on!
Okay,I admit,I was only doing that to make myself feel better and to distract myself. The whole thing isn't actually the funniest joke ever for me,you know. I packed my things and turned my head to say goodbye to Annie, yet what I saw...put me in serious conflict. I could not, would not leave her like that, but what was I going to do?
