*Part 2/3*

"Miss L/N?" The nurse called through the waiting area and you shot up.

"Yes, that's me," You beamed as you stood up. Tom followed you into the doctor's office where you were appointed to the bed.

"I read this is your first ultrasound?" The doctor said as she flipped through a file.

"It is," You confirmed.

"You must be very excited, then," She smiled and you nodded. "Can you roll up your shirt for me?" You did as she asked and your still flat stomach was exposed to the cold air in the room. "This might be cold," The doctor said before she squirted a small amount of blue gel on your skin. Goosebumps spread all over your body but you didn't care.

The doctor took the ultrasound probe and placed it on your abdomen. She started moving the probe around and in no time, the clear sound of your baby's heartbeat reached your ears. Your eyes watered and you felt Tom squeeze your hand. You looked over and found him with tears in his eyes as well. He smiled softly as your eyes locked with his.

"Your baby is in perfect health. Mother and child are both doing great," The doctor smiled before wiping away the gel. You sat up and Tom wrapped his arm around your shoulders. You leaned your body into him as the smile never left your face. "I will see you again in two weeks. If you have any questions or problems, don't hesitate to call me. It's better to be safe than sorry."

"Yes, of course. Thank you, doctor." Tom shook her hand and so did you.

Once at home, you spent the rest of your afternoon on the couch, eating your favourite craving food, pickles. Ever since you had gotten pregnant, you couldn't stop eating pickles, even though you hated them before. To say it made Tom laugh was an understatement.

"Tom, where's my sweater?" You asked, walking around the room in your sports bra while looking for the piece of clothing.

"Do you mean my sweater?" He asked while he was occupied by his phone. He didn't even bother to look up.

You groaned. "Yes, have you seen it?"

He sighed. "It's in the bathr- Wait, don't move." He dropped his phone, jumped off the bed and came over to you.

"What are you-" You said, but he shushed you as he turned you sideways. He carefully took your hand and placed it on your stomach.

"Do you feel that?" He asked and your jaw dropped. Under your palm, you felt the slightest bump.

"I have a baby bump!" You gasped.

"You do!" Tom cheered before engulfing you in a hug.

"That's our baby, Tom," You smiled broadly as you pulled back. He crouched down to the floor.

"Hey, there, kid," He spoke to your stomach. "How's it going in there? Are you being nice to your mum? You know, I'm really excited to meet you. I hope you'll have your mother's eyes. Your mum is the best girl in the world and your dad... Well, he's Spider-Man, so it can't get much better. We already love you so much. We can't wait to meet you," He said before pressing a kiss to your exposed bump. "Wow," He breathed before standing up straight again. "We really are having a baby, huh?"

You nodded. "Yeah, we are." He leaned in and rested his forehead against yours. You shut your eyes and listened to his breathing. "I'm so excited."

"Yeah, me too," He smiled. "You're gonna be a great mum, Y/N."

"I freaking hate you, right now," You groaned as another contraction surged through your body.

"You're doing great, love," He said, offering you another chip of ice. You glared at him before gladly taking the ice. It was the only thing you were allowed to eat and you were starving. Pretty logical, considering that you had been in labour for the past fourteen hours.

Your water had broken early this morning and you were lucky to be staying at Tom's apartment that night because you would've freaked out if you had been on your own. He had rushed you to the hospital where you had been for the past eleven hours. You were seven centimetres dilated, so it could take a while until you were ready to start pushing considering the fact that it took you fourteen hours to dilate seven centimetres.

"Is it okay if I'm gonna get some food?" Tom asked, waking you up from your thoughts.

"Yeah, sure," You nodded and he smiled, letting go of your hand. He left the room and you sighed, dropping your head in your pillow.

"So," A voice spoke up. "What is he?" You looked up and saw the girl on the bed across from you looking at you with curious eyes.

"What do you mean?" You asked, etching your brows.

"Well, I was wondering what he is to you. He's obviously the father but he's not your boyfriend or something, right?" She said.

"No, how did you know?" You asked, your confusion growing.

"He didn't kiss you or say 'I love you' like all the other dads," She explained.

"Wow," You said softly and she nodded proudly. "Yeah, he's my best friend."

"Best friend? How did that happen?" She frowned.

"Believe me, you don't want to know," You groaned as you breathed through another contraction.

"Aren't you worried?" The girl continued.

You raised a brow. "About...?"

"Having to raise your baby on your own?" She shrugged casually.

"Why would I be raising my baby on my own?" You asked.

"Well, what happens if he finds someone he wants to start a family with?" She asked.

Your heart sunk. You had never thought of that before.

A nurse entered the room and checked the girl's dilation. "Great news, you're at ten centimetres, we're going to move you to the delivery room," The nurse spoke.

The girl sent you a thumbs-up. "Good luck, girl!" She beamed while she was wheeled out of the room. You replied with only a weak smile as your eyes pooled with tears. You looked up at the ceiling while taking a few breaths to keep your tears from falling.

"Y/N?" You heard Tom's voice and you looked up. "You okay?"

Your bottom lip started trembling and a hint of fear flashed through his eyes. He sped to your side. "Y/N, what's wrong?" He asked.

"Are you going to leave me?" You asked, your voice cracking.

"Wh-Love, what are you talking about?" He sat down on the chair beside your bed.

"That girl who was here earlier, she said that you're going to leave me when you find someone you want to start a family with. That you'll forget about me and the baby because you're too busy with your new life," You rambled while hot tears streamed down your face.

He remained quiet for a second, which only increased your fears. "Y/N," He started, reaching for your hand. "You don't get it, do you?" You looked at him with confused eyes. He wiped away your tears with his thumbs. "You're my family. Y/N, I love you so much and I will never leave you. You're the one I want to start a family with. You, and no one else." More tears streamed down your cheeks but now, they were happy tears.

"I love you too, Tom," You smiled and he took the sides of your face, pulling you close to kiss you lovingly.
