Christmas Eve
Ellie's POV
"So, George how've you been?" I asked my brother when he sat down on the couch. "I've been doing good. How about you?" He asked in return. "I'm doing great," I said. "You guys know the gender yet?" He asked. "Yep," I said. He waited and looked at me for a second. "You gonna tell me?" He asked. "We are telling everyone when they all get here," I said. He nodded. As if on cue, John and Robert walked in. "Finally, now can you show it?" George asked. I laughed. "Everyone, can you come to the living room for a minute. I have something to show you," I said, loud enough for the whole house to hear me. I hooked up my phone to the TV and got the video ready. "This is my gender reveal," I said. I pressed play.
The video played and we watched everyone guess the gender before we did the actual reveal. Then the count down started.
3....2.....1!
We pulled the tabs on the smoke bombs and pink smoke went everywhere. My family clapped along with my friends at the end. "Congratulations!" My family said. "Do you have a name picked out yet?" John asked me. "We only found out it was a girl a few weeks ago," I said. "A few weeks? You've kept it from us for that long?" Robert said. We all laughed.
"Do you guys want to open a gift or two?" My mom asked us a few hours later. "Sure," I said. My brothers and I all sat by the tree and picked up a present with our names. Old traditions don't end. I opened one from George and JB. "Awww! Thank you!" I said, opening the gift. It was a big box of tea that helps you sleep. "You're welcome! I thought it would be helpful when you hit the third trimester. Sleeping is gonna get really hard," JB said. I laughed. "I'm sure I'll use it, then," I said. George opened one of his from mom, as did John and Robert.
"Well, it's getting late," mom said a little while later. Slowly, the boys started to leave. Nick and I went up to our room. We got ready for bed.
"Christmas is so nice here," Nick said. "Yeah, we like to stick to traditions," I said. He nodded. "So whats gonna happen tomorrow?" He asked. "We will get up and eat breakfast when the boys get here. Then we will open the other gifts. Then we'll just hang out all day," I explained. "That sounds like it's gonna be a good day," he said. I nodded and crawled under the covers. Nick got in after me. He put an arm around me and the other around my waist, his hand resting on my stomach.
Christmas Morning
I woke up and smelled bacon and pancakes. I got out of bed and woke Nick up before getting dressed.
"Good morning," I said, walking into the kitchen, Nick close behind me. He made himself some coffee and made me tea. Soon, my brothers walked through the door. "Merry Christmas!" They said. I laughed. "Merry Christmas!" I said, hugging them. We all sat down and ate breakfast together before heading into the living room.
"Open mine first!" John said. "You sound like a child, but okay," I said, laughing. I pulled off the paper on the gift and opened the box. "Aw, they're so adorable!" I said, picking up the little yellow and blue outfit and hats for the baby. "Thank you!" I said. I handed them to Nick. "They're so little," he said. "They're newborn sized," I said. He chuckled. "Mine's next," Robert said. I opened his gift and found a set of three burp cloths and a few pacifiers. "Thank you so much!" I said. Then I picked up the gifts from my parents. They got me a few gender neutral outfits for the baby and a few new jewelry sets for me. "Thanks, guys," I said. "You're welcome," everyone said.
Everyone else opened their gifts after me. The room filled with laughter as my family told Nick a few childhood stories about me. "There was this one phase Ellie went through when she was about five, and she wore mismatched shoes to school every day. She refused to wear two of the same shoe," George explained. "Really? Eleanor Bishop wore clothes that weren't perfectly matching?" Nick said, laughing. "Yep. She also had this friend in preschool, and things were quite serious if you ask me. She would always talk about this little boy. When he'd come over for play dates, they always talked about all the little kids they were going to have when they got older. I remember one day, mom got a call that they had kissed once," John said. "Oh, boy, that is hilarious," Nick said. They continued on about the different things I would do as a kid for a while. Before we knew it, it was already 3:00. "Mom, do you need any help cooking dinner?" I asked. "No, but you can help if you want," she said. I got up and followed her to the kitchen. The laughter for the living room continued for a while, but slowly died down. Then the TV got turned on.
Nicks POV
I was having a great time with the male side of Ellie's family. I decided to ask them a very important question. "Guys, can I ask you a question really quick?" I asked quietly, making sure not to talk over the television. They all leaned in close. "So, I don't have anything picked out, nor do I think I'll be doing this anytime soon, but I was wondering about this one thing. I really, really love Ellie. I'd do anything for her and our daughter. Can i have your blessing?" I asked. "Yes, Nick. You mean a lot to our little sister. Though you didn't start dating on the best conditions, you clearly are head over heels in love with her, and she feels the same," George said. I looked at her dad. "The way you look at my daughter is something I haven't seen before in someone she's been with. Jake didn't care for her like you do. And the other boy, I never got to meet him. She loves you and I know you'll treat her right. You have my blessing, Nick," her dad said. "Thank you very much, sir," I said, shaking his hand. "Thanks, guys," I said to her brothers. They nodded. We all sat back and continued watching TV.
Late in the Evening
Nick's POV
"So, Mrs. Bishop, I wanted to talk to you about something. I'm not saying I'm doing this any time soon, but I was wondering if I have your blessing?" I asked. "Yes, Nick, of course you do," she said. "Thank you," I said. She smiled before Ellie walked back in. "I think I'm gonna head up to bed," She yawned. "I'll come, too," I said, following her upstairs. We walked into our room and shut the door. I grabbed her shoulders and turned to look at her. "Merry Christmas, Ellie," I said. "Merry Christmas, Nick," she returned. I leaned down and kissed her passionately. "I, uh, had this gift for you," I said, walking over to my backpack and pulling out a small box, but not one for a ring. I handed it to Ellie. She gasped when she opened it. "Nick, this is so beautiful!" She said. I smiled. "I tried," I said. She giggled. I had given her a necklace with a small "B" charm on it. I chose that letter since I call her B, and she is the mother of my baby. She hugged me. "Thank you," She said. I hugged her tightly. "You're welcome, B," I said. She giggled before getting ready for bed.
She snuggled up under the covers and I put one of my arms around her and the other hand rested on her stomach. "Merry Christmas, Ellie. I love you," I said. "I love you, too, Nick," she said, leaning up and pecking my lips. This really was our reality. We were a little family.
A/N- MERRY CHRISTMAS! Or as I prefer, Merry Chrysler! (Sry, i like Vines). If you don't celebrate Christmas, then happy whatever it is that you celebrate! I hope your holidays are fun!
