A few days later
Ellie's POV
Nick was back at work, and I was back to being bored as hell. I decided to go through the stuff we had for the nursery. I started by washing the bottles and clearing a spot in the cabinet for them. Then I washed all the pacifiers. I tossed the blankets and clothes in the laundry and went back to the nursery, just walking around and looking at the decorations. Then i felt my phone buzz. I saw that i had a text from my mom.
Mom- Hey, honey. I was just wondering if you wanted to talk and catch up a bit. We haven't talked in a week.
EB-Sure. I'll call you.
I walked to the living room and called my mom. "Hey!" I said when she answered the phone. "Hey, sweetie. How're you?" She asked. "I'm incredibly bored and tired," I said. She laughed. "You've only got four and a half weeks left. You'll survive," she said. I laughed. "Your brothers and I sent you some packages. They should be getting there today," she said. "Yay! I need more stuff to do. I've already done a lot in the nursery. I had my baby shower Saturday, by the way. I'll send you some pictures," I said. I put her on speaker and sent the photos from the shower. "Oh, that looks like so much fun!" She said. "Yeah. My friends from work organized it as a surprise. It was really great," I said. "So how's my granddaughter doing?" She asked. "She is doing really well. She is ready to be in the world, I think," I said. My mom laughed. "And what about Nick?" She asked. "He's doing good. He hates having to leave me at home while he gets to do the fun stuff at work. But he's really excited that she's gonna be here soon. It doesn't feel like that long since we found out. I think we are both just ready to have her in our arms," I explained. "Aww. You two are so happy together," she said. "Yeah. We really are," I agreed. "Well, I should let you get back to organizing. I love you, sweetie. Goodbye," she said. "Love you too, mom. Bye," I hung up the phone.
A few hours later, the packages from my family arrived. I quickly opened them, revealing several new outfits for the baby. I did another load of laundry to wash those.
Eventually, Nick got home. He made us dinner and we talked a bit. "So, I'm gonna go ahead and apologize now for how things are gonna get soon. Normally, women will become extremely irritable and uncomfortable in their last few weeks of pregnancy. So, I'm sorry if I ever got really really mean at any point," I said. "It's okay. Or, it will be okay. You're the one carrying a baby," he said. I smiled and laughed. "My family sent a package to us. It had a lot of outfits and stuff for the baby," I said. "Good. Did you organize the nursery?" He asked. I nodded quickly. "That's nice. Do you need anything from the store or anything? I was thinking about going before it gets too late," Nick said. "Can I go with you? I'm dying to get out of this house," I said. "Of course you can," he said. We finished dinner and i got ready to leave the house.
We went to the store down the street, and I made sure to get lots of food so I could cook while I was at home.
Soon enough, we were back at home and ready for bed. "I'm so ready for our princess to be here," Nick said. "I know. We haven't picked out a name yet. We probably should think about that," I said. "Yeah. I've been trying to think about it in my spare time," he said. I chuckled a little bit. "We've got a few weeks. It's fine," I said. He yawned. "I love you," He said, kissing me. "And I love you, princess," he said, leaning towards my belly. He kissed it too. "I love you, too. And so does she," I said.
