Kathryn's POV

"Sebastian, I- I forgive you. Sebastian, I love you." She curls up next to me on the floor, stroking my cheek. "I love you more than anything, don't you ever doubt that."

"I'm sorry I never told you all that. I'm sorry you had to see that," I whisper.

She touches her forehead to mine. "No more apologizing. Just close your eyes and breathe."

I follow her instructions carefully. Suddenly my head is filled with soothing, quiet music. It's coming from Kathryn, and it's the prettiest thing I've ever heard. Soft, smooth, simple, and flowing, lessening the stress and pain on my mind and wiping all the thoughts away.

The words are familiar, Carry on My Wayward Son, in Kathryn's voice. She sings it like a lullaby.

Carry on my wayward son

There'll be peace when you are done

Lay your weary head to rest

Don't you cry no more

Once I rose above the noise and confusion

Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion

I was soaring ever higher, but I flew too high

Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man

Though my mind could think I still was a mad man

I hear the voices when I'm dreaming,

I can hear them say

Carry on my wayward son,

There'll be peace when you are done

Lay your weary head to rest

Don't you cry no more

After what seems like a peaceful eternity,  Kathryn laughs quietly. "I just remembered we're laying on the floor."

I laugh too. "Let's at least sit up, then."

We sit cross legged on the floor.

"You're alot more handsome sitting up," Kathryn says.

"Thanks." Then I kiss her. Slowly, softly, sweetly, memorizing her lips and erasing Janey's. It's the kind of kiss you never want to end; the kind you want to hold inside your heart.

We break apart, our foreheads touching.

"Woah," Kathryn breathes. "We should do that more."

"I second that motion."

She looks down at her lap. "We kinda... We slept through yesterday."

"So what time is it?"

"Almost dinner time." She looks back at me. "You broke her nose."

I cringe.

"No, no. She deserved it. Don't beat yourself up. In fact, I think I should go talk to her." Kathryn gets up. "You wanna come?"

"No! I just broke her nose, Blondie. Wouldn't Thor try to kill me for breaking his baby girl's nose?" I respond.

Her face pales. "Uh oh."

I sigh and close my eyes. "Kathryn... We're a mess."

"We're a mess together," she says. "Now come on, it's better late than never."
