Kathryn's POV
My sides ache and my head feels as though it's about to split. I let out a soft groan as my eyes open and adjust to the glare of light.
"By the name of the Allfather," someone gasps. "She's awake!"
"Wha?" I mumble. The area surrounding me is blurry and bright.
"Oh, Kathryn!" My mother's voice shrieks. "My baby! I thought you'd never wake up!" She wraps her arms around me carefully.
"Where am I?" Then, I realize something else is missing. My husband. "Where's Sebastian?"
My mother kisses my head. "He's right next to you, honey. He's come every night and day since he woke up to see you."
What? my mind screams. I can't remember anything besides family. Finally my vision comes back. Mom and Dad smile down at me.
True enough to my mother's words, Sebastian is sound asleep next to me, his warm body comforting.
My mother informs me of my injuries and nothing more, then my father kisses my hand and the two leave.
I nudge Sebastian. His eyes flutter open, revealing the beautiful blue eyes that are imprinted on my soul.
He cups my face in his hands, studying my face intently. "Kathryn, I was afraid you would never wake up."
"I woke up."
Sebastian kisses my nose. "Thank goodness you did. How do you feel?"
"I have claw marks down my stomach, and I don't remember a thing," I reply, attempting to sit up. "But you're here, so I'm a bit better."
He laughs and flashes one of his flawless smiles. "I'm glad I married you before something stupid happened."
"Me too."
Sebastian wraps his arms around me. "I don't want to let go of you, I love you too much."
"Then don't let me go. I love you, too."

Sorry for the late update, I had auditions for my school musical and then it was Halloween and I got the lead in the musical aggh I'm so excited! Also, I have another fanfic called Chosen so that doesn't help with slow updates, but I'm trying!
