Chapter 11: Cousin Calix

Harvey's P.O.V.

'Son'

I searched the white room but couldn't find anything or anyone.

'Hello?!' I called out.

'Son,take care of her.'

'What do you mean?' I asked even though I see no one. And I feel like I'm going crazy.

'Soon...' the voice started fading away.

'Hello?!' I called.

'Hello?!'

When I woke up, I thought I had a dream, but I forgot.

'Protect'that echoed in my head.

'Care'

I heard the door bell ringing.

I got up and went to get to the front door of the house.

When I opened it, I breathed a sigh of relief or gladness.

Stood before me was my closest cousin - Calix. He had a bright smile on his face that makes you comfortable with him. But betray or anger him. We'll see if you survive.

"Harvey!bro!"he raised his hand for a high five, while I for a formal hand shake. "Oookaayy?"he said stretching the word then shook my hand.

I opened the door wider for him to enter.

"Harvey my man! Who is this angel?!"he said when he entered.

I closed the door and looked to see the girl.

She's standing there looking at us, more like him in confusion.

"My Angel." He greeted and bowed to her like a true gentleman.

"Hello?..."she greeted and curtsy.

"What brings you here Calix?"he doesn't visit grandma often, so why now?

"Didn't anyone tell you?"he asked amused.

"I wouldn't be asking if I knew. And why are you in a uniform?" I asked, still in my cold mood.

"Well cousin deary..."he started sounding like Aunt Ann. I saw from my peripheral vision that the girl smiled a little at his behavior. "I have a news for you." He continued. "You are going to study in V University with me. "He declared.

'V university?'

I must be crazy. I'm hearing things again.

I ignored it and looked at my cousin. He was checking his watch and stared at it with wide eyes. Then he turned to look at me.

"Bro!"he shouted in a hurry."We're gonna be late!"he shouted and went to my back and pushed me to move.

"Hey! What are you doing?"

"We're gonna be late. And you don't wanna angry the teacher. Come on." He said as he pushed me again.

I took a shower as fast as I could. And changed into the uniform he gave me.

He said no one can enter the school without a uniform and the logo pin.

I have to go to school. At least that would make granny, mom and Aunt Ann proud.

I may have had a problem with my life. But that won't stop me from making my goal come true.

To become a business man.

As I was done. I grabbed some bag I left here the last time and just put there some pens,blank papers,eraser and pencils from my working desk.

Then I made my way downstairs.

I saw Calix in the living room pacing back and forth.

He really doesn't want to be late.

"Great! You're done. Let's go!"he called as I descended the stairs hurriedly. "Chop chop!!! We are so dead!"

"Come on!"with that he dragged me outside and inside his car.

He quickly ignited the engine and sped off.

We made it to school just in time the bell rang.

I didn't have time to look at the structure, because Calix dragged me to my first subject which is also his.

And basically we have the same schedule.

He said it to me when we are in the car.

When we are at the room. We ran to take a seat and then a loud bang was heard.

It was the teacher in front. She slammed the long meter stick at the board. We didn't see her there when we were on our way.

"Why are you late?"she said sternly. But she was neither angry or happy(not that there's a reason to smile). Just a complete plain expression.

"We're sorry miss. The alarm clock broke."Calix reason out.

"I won't ask any questions. Just listen. It'll be enough. "

Then the class has started.

She must have forgotten about me. She never asked me to introduce myself.

I just shrugged it off.
