Chapter 29: The Chase

Ana's P.O.V.

For a few weeks being here on earth I felt free. Unlike there at home, everything was different.

Yes I can roam around the castle freely but I wasn't aloud to go out without any heavy security. I was only free inside the castle walls and can go out to school but is still guarded.

Dad once, almost didn't let me out. I was still young back then. My defenses were still weak, the reason why father didn't let me out alone. Dad believed that when I'll be in my 20's I can protect myself and can't be harmed by any.

That's why after my birthday, I quickly asked dad to be able to go to another dimension. Because I know he can't resist my plea. And I also did some... of my ability. Hehe. Sorry dad. Though I can only affect dad a little bit of it without him noticing or feeling any.

Thank goodness it worked! It was suffocating to be there without the ability to go out.

I enhaled the smell of fresh air as it hit my face in a soft caressing manner. I was here in the balcony, enjoying the view. From here you can see it all, specifically the whole forest area that hid this tall house. Despite the beautiful giant trees and plants, you can still see the perfect view here in the balcony.

Venderwood said that father chose this place for me not to be seen by them.

Like the mapple trees back in the place where the portal was located, the trees and plants here moved the same way. Only a path can be seen once the button was pressed and the path closes once it is passed.

He said that people with bad intensions will be lost here and will never come out alive. It's either they'll be killed by hunger or by torture in the way of the plants.

*sigh*

I really don't like the sight of blood. But in time, if ever I have to draw a sword for the ones I love, then so be it.

I shook out the bad vibes then continued to breath in and out calmly. Nature always calms me down, like her. *sigh* I'm thinking sad or bad thoughts again.

I was still in the balcony until I heard a scream from a far distance.

"Ahhhhhh!!!!!HELP MEEE!!!!!!!"

My eyes quickly searched the whole area. Someone needs help!

It stopped on where a girl was being chased by a guy in a dark suit, dangerously running after her.

"Ahhhhh!!!!HELP!!!!!!!"the girl's scream reached my ears. She was running fast. Not in a normal average way but in the speed of lightning as well as the one chasing her.

"HELPPP!!!!!!"she shouted again.

I couldn't hold it anymore. I jumped from the balcony then ran. I matched the girl's speed then diverted a way through the forest to get to her. I was very far from where I'd been now.

"HELPPPP!!!!!!!"she desperately shouted. I can clearly see the fear within her eyes.

They were running soo fast running everywhere but near each other in this vast seemingly endless forest.

I catched up but this girl seems to be a lot faster than me. The man in all black saw me and his eyes widened in shock. His speed was still the same but his attention was not in the girl, it was now on... me.

After a couple of seconds staring at me, he shook his head frantically then continued to run after her.

I myself, found it a bit strange for him to stare at me like that. Does he know me? I removed that thought and continued to run faster than them.

"HELPPPPP!!!ANYONE?!!!!" she seemed to be a bit weak right now which was the advantage of the man.

When she turned left, it was now a dead end. The tall walls of the mountain blocked her way out. She desperately searched for another way but no to avail, the man was now in front of her. She was frozen in place. Her eyes in complete fear.

I was hiding behind the tree, careful not to attack yet.

"Please.. wh-who ee-ver you are. Please spare me." I felt a tug in my heart as she said those words. The girl was trembling, full of sweat and tears were running down her cheeks as she pleaded for her life. The man was taking dangerous steps towards the girl, dangerously slow.

"I can't."was all he said then was about to charge to the girl when I used my ability to make him freeze his body.

She was trembling in fear before that happened that she fell unconscious. I stepped away from my hiding place then rushed to the girl and scooped her into my arms. She was drenched in sweat, her hair is a mess and her body was shaking a bit from the after shock.

I turned to look at the man. He was literally frozen in place. I was about to punish him for hurting an innocent being when I heard the girl mumbling.

"Help..." she looked soo weak when she tried to open her eyes.

I rushed to her side, scooped her up and faced the man. I let him have his other senses like his ability to hear.

"I'll let you go for now. I really don't like anyone hurting innocent beings. And... I hate to see blood scattered anywhere here. Understand?" He nodded thrice." Now go. Before I change my mind."with that his senses are back again and he ran away from there.

My attention was back to the girl.*sigh*

Where could your house be at. You should get back to your family.

*sigh *

Then I saw her I.D.

I could send her there. Her school might help her get back to her family.

But the problem is... where is that place?

I can't tell Venderwood about her.

Hmmmm...
