Chapter 23: A little Confusion

Angel's P.O.V.

We are heading for the cafeteria when I heard someone call out my name.

"Angel!"

That voice seems familiar.

I turned around to see Calix. He was running towards us. I smiled and waved at him.

It was a matter of seconds before he reached us. Well, that was fast. He was at the edge of the hallway before.

Calix turned to Harvey and glared at him. Harvey doesn't seem to be fazed by it.

"You ditched me man." Calix stated.

I look at Harvey. "Sorry." was all he stated.

Calix then look at me with a smirk on his face.

'Did something happen that I didn't know?'

" I think I know why." Calix smiled while nodding.

Their kind of weird now.

"Girl, look at her. She looks ugly."the girl said who is besides those lockers near the cafeteria. She's looking at me in... disgust? Why?

"I know right. She doesn't deserve to be near Calix nor Harvey."the other one said."they would fit with us rather than her." She said the word 'her' in annoyance. 'What's up with them?'

"Hey Angel, come on, I'm hungry." Calix whines. I see that they're in the door waiting for me. I might have not paid attention to them. My attention was to those girls.

Calix grabbed my hand then dragged me inside. I guess he's hungry. *giggle*

While he did that, I heard a low growl behind me. I must be hearing things. I shrugged it off then took a seat.

Once we're seated Calix faced Harvey. He spoke like a little kid.

"Harvey warvy, please get me something to eat." He gave him a puppy dog face. Awww... cute.

I looked at Harvey and saw him giving Calix a look that says your-not-cute-so-stop-that.

I giggled a little at the treaty with this two.

"Harvey warvy, get me a pasta and a soda will you?"he, again gave him the puppy eyes. His eyes were teasing as he look at him.

Harvey sigh and asked then mimics what Calix did.." Is that all, Calixy waxy?"which in return Calix laughed. He looks cute though.

"Man, you're not cute when you're the one who does that." He said chuckling.

He gave Calix a deadpan look. "Says the guy who did it."

Calix pouted. Awww.. cute. "I am cute!" He defended.

"Yeah yeah."then he turned to me." How about you Angel?"

"Oh so now you're asking her politely." Calix said sarcastically.

Harvey didn't mind him.

" uhhmmm...." let's see what's nice to eat?"oh I know!"I wanted to taste it again! "I want the food that nanny Jane made last last dinner. Pleeeaaassseee..."

"What dinner?"

"The last last dinner we had. The one with a lot of cheese in it."

"Is it lasagna?" Calix said.

I thought for a while remembering what nanny told me.

Yeah! That's the name!

I nodded earnestly.

Harvey nodded and proceeded to go and line up.

"So... . How is it here in school? Do you like it?" Calix asked which made me look at him.

'What do I think about school? Hmm. ..'

I smiled sweetly then replied. "I like it here. Even if I'm still new to this school thing. Oh! And I even made a friend!"

As if on cue. The cafeteria door opened.

"Oooh here he is!" I excitedly stood up then went to him.

"Angel, how are you?" Ask David.

I smile warmly. "I'm fine. Do you have anyone with you?" My body then leaned left and right to see if anyone is there.

"No, I'm just alone."he gave me a tight smile.

"Come! Sit with us! I'm sure they won't mind." I offered.

"Are you sure it's okay with them?" I nodded.

"Okay."

"Yey! Come!" I pulled him towards our table then offered him a seat.

"Thanks."was his reply.

"Your welcome"😊

Someone cleared their throat, and that made us look to where it came from.

It was Calix and behind him was Harvey.

Calix offered his hand then shook hands with him." Hey man. Calix."

"David. Just call me David."they nodded at each other.

I'm glad they were friends in an instant. I then look at Harvey. Is he okay? He looks angry. His knuckles were white. And his face was blank, but there was an expression in his eyes that I can't name.

Harvey sat down. " here's the food." There's that cold voice again.

I instantly looked at the table and saw LASAGNA!!! I instantly forgot everything then grabbed it.

"THANK YOU!"then I dig in.

While we eat no one spoke. The cafeteria even sounds quiet. And sometimes I would catch Harvey staring at me with an emotion I can't name. But I just continued eating.

Then suddenly, Harvey abruptly stood up." I'll be back." With that he went out the cafeteria.

I look at David who's at my side. Then Calix who's seat is across mine.

We all share different looks.

I wonder what happened to Harvey.
