"Honey, I think Peter is awake." This was the first thing Tony heard this morning. His beautiful, amazing wife waking him up. He yawned and looked at the alarm clock. It was two in the morning? He furrowed his brow and looked at Pepper.

"Peter? Awake? At this hour?" He asked groggily. Pepper nodded with a frown. "What makes you think that?"

"I heard rustling around in the kitchen. FRIDAY also told me it was Peter. She said he had a nightmare." She winced. Tony mimicked Peppers frown and threw the covers off of him.

"I'm going to talk to him. Get some sleep, honey." Tony have her a quick peck on the cheek and left the room with his sweatpants and his usual grey tank top. Tony ran a hand through his hair and opened the door that led into the hallway. The billionaire wiped his face then stepped out and shut the door behind him.

Tony hated hearing that Peter had been in distress. He doesn't like having to hear stuff like that. He also doesn't like when his disrupts his- the kids sleep.

Tony reached the kitchen and noticed Peter sitting at a barstool with his head on the counter. Tony frowned and made his way to the kid. Before Tony knew it the kid had whipped around and held his fist up. Tony just stood there watching him boringly. "Put the fist down and no one gets hurt." He said blankly. Peter let out a breath.

"Sorry, Mr. Stark. I just . . . was on high alert." Tony sighed and patted the boys back.

"Pete, I know you had a nightmare. I'll sit here all day until you tell me about it." Peter was only spending the night with Tony due to the amount of work they had to do to his suit after a very intense battle with a mob.

"I . . . have no clue what you are talking about. I'm just gonna go running soon-." Tony held up a disapproving brow.

"You mean you are going to go running at two am? I think not. Spill the beans or I spill the tea. Come on. I'm hungry. Let's talk it over with some food." Peter didn't deny the offer and just twirled around in the barstool. Soon enough the two were eating cereal, side by side.

"So, what's the nightmare?"

"I dreamt about . . . the mob coming in here and killing you and Pepper. I wasn't strong enough to save you guys." Tony almost choked and spit out his cereal.

"Pete, let me tell you something. I'll make sure that no one ever gets into this tower. Also, I'm IronMan. Another, you are Spiderman and you are strong enough. The brain of yours is big and smart. Your heart is the same size and that's perfect for you. You keep you friends closer and your enemies close. That's okay because that saying is fucked up anyway."

Peter couldn't help but snort. "Mr. Stark, that saying means-."

"I don't care."

"Well, thank you. I feel better now." Peter smiled and took a bite of his cereal.

"Besides, if anyone got to Pepper they'd have to go through every damn security guard in this building and me. Even you. Same goes for you dammit." Tony sling an arm over the boy. "I will never let that happen." Peter nodded.

"I know."
