Tony yawned as walked out of his shared room with his wife, Pepper Potts-Stark. He loved her almost more than anything. He says almost because he has Peter, his amazing, brilliant, handsome, and big-hearted son. Of course, parents don't all know what actually go on inside their kids' heads. The also don't know what really goes on in their life. Or so it seems to the youngest Stark.

"Good Morning, Pete." He smiled and ruffled the kids already messy mop. Peter mumbles a 'morning' and continues to watch the news. Tony frowned and was going to say something when his wife came in. Tony lost his train of thought and immediately smiled and hugged his wife and gave her a kiss.

"Good Morning, boys! Peter, you have to help Mrs. Nelson with her garden this morning. She called and asked if you could help out. You free?" Pepper looked at the sweatpants and t-shirt wearing boy.

"Yeah . . ."

"Alrighty. Honey, I have to go to that meeting. The one that had to get re-scheduled because . . . you had other things planned for my time." Pepper winked and Tony smirked.

"It was way better than watching that booty go away from me."

"Aw, come on, I'm sitting right here!" Peter groaned and turned up the news.

"Oh Peter, your father and I are in love. Be thankful. You'll know the feeling one day!" Pepper swooned and went to kiss her boy on the head. "I'll be back soon. Have some father and son bonding time. Mrs. Nelson needs help around noon so you have four hours." Pepper said and smiled. Peter smiled for a second before dropping it and peering at the news.

Pepper frowned but stood anyway and went back to Tony who walked her to the elevator. Pepper frowned after she hit the button for the elevator to come up.

"Tony, I'm worried about Peter. Will you . . . talk to him?" Tony sighed and nodded.

"I noticed too. Maybe the whole Spiderman thing has him down? His arm is getting better. Karen said the bone is almost near done healing." Pepper nodded before picking up her case.

"Don't let him do to much heavy lifting with his hurt arm. I know he can lift a lot but you know what I mean. Bye, I love you." She waved and pressed the bottom floor button.

"I love you too." Tony called as the doors closed. Tony ran over what he was going to start out with in his head before he reached the couch and sat next to his slightly injured son.

"Pete, what's wrong? You've been down lately and I hate seeing you this way. Is it because you have to take a day off from being spandex boy?" Peter shook his head not acknowledging the taunt of his father. "Then what's wrong?" Now Tony was really concerned.

"Do you know how bad it hurts knowing that you tried your best but it still wasn't good enough." Peter looked up at his father after saying words that the man would remember forever.

"Pete, there are things that you will not succeed in but that's okay. You can succeed in other things that others cannot." Tony admired his son before grabbing him into a hug as the boy cried a bit. "You are a damn good superhero and no one will tell you otherwise." Tony mumbled and kissed his head.

"Thank you, Dad. I love you. Please, don't ever leave."

"I love you, Pete. I-I'll try my hardest. I promise." Tony mumbled.

The two sat there in the embrace that meant the world to Peter. They never knew that it was Peter who would turn dust and leave.
