I couldn't sleep right away last night. I just stared at the ceiling. A lot has happened, but at that moment, my mind was just completely blank. I couldn't make out anything of it all, it's all just confusing.
The next day I didn't have the energy to live, I got out of bed in the afternoon. I lethargically ate my first meal for the day and took a shower. I had nothing to do so I decided to just watch television. I was alone today. Mom and Dad are at the shop, and Maven is at school.
It was around 2:00 pm when the doorbell rang. I stood up to open the door and welcomed Alessia.
"Hi!" She greeted.
"Hey." I wasn't expecting her to be here.
"Are your parents home?" She asked.
"Uhm, no. They're at the store-"
"Great!" She enthusiastically stepped inside the house after knowing my parents aren't here. "So, my senior left early today so you know, I kinda left early too. I wanted to ask you out on a date." She was smiling so wide, it was actually infectious.
"A date?" I repeated.
"Yeah! It's been awhile you know. I suppose you don't have plans today?"
"No, not really-"
"Then, let's go! Go get changed, I'll wait for you. Hurry, okay!" She was basically pushing me to get upstairs and get ready. And I obliged.

We went to the mall and practically went inside every boutique. Alessia sure had a lot of energy, but I was having fun with her. I completely forgot that I was in a foul mood earlier.
Alessia had bought some clothes and treated me with a blouse. I really didn't want to take it but she insisted saying that it looked pretty on me although I didn't really try it on.
When the both of us got tired we went to eat some snacks at a burger shack.
While waiting for our orders she searched her bag for a moment and got out envelopes which she handed to me.
"These are letters from the mail. It's yours." I took the letters from her hand.
"Thanks," I said and she just smiled at me.
I scanned the letters. I must have put the house where Alessia and I were staying at my permanent address. It was mostly from the office and others from the bank. It wasn't anything important now. I've already gone to the office, and the bank was just offering this new reward card. I put the letters in my bag.
After a few minutes, we got our order.
I looked at Alessia thinking hard if I should ask her about my accident, but she beat me to speak.
"I'm really thankful I could spend this day with you. It's been stressful lately. I needed this." And she heaved a deep sigh.
Maybe now's not the right time to ask her questions.

Alessia dropped me to our house by 5:32 pm, and when I got home I saw our dad sitting at the dining table alone. He looked troubled.
"Hey, dad," I spoke to make my presence known.
He stood up as soon as he heard my voice. "Where have you been?" His voice sounded more worried than angry.
"I was at the mall-"
"Why didn't you tell anyone you headed out? Not even a note on where you went. I was so worried Mia! You just had an accident, what if something bad has happened to you again?" He lectured, and I kept my head down the whole time.
