I was having the time of my life trying to free myself from all the worries, forgetting all the pain and the thought of him.
But faith just didn't want to agree with me.
I felt someone grab me by my arm. I thought it must be Alessia but when I looked up I saw Alex looking down at me.
For a moment I couldn't speak, surprised by his sudden appearance. I noticed Alessia standing at the side not too far from us. I sometimes forget that she's Alex's sister.
"Hey, get off me," I spoke, finding my voice again. I tried to shake my arm free, but it didn't do anything.
"You've had enough. You're going home." Alex practically dragged me outside the bar.
"Let go of me. I can handle myself," I tried to protest. "Why is a doctor even here?"
"To collect a patient apparently. You're drunk." He bit back.
"I'm not drunk."
"That's exactly what drunk people say. Let's go."
I looked back to see Alessia following behind us. She had a nervous face. That's when I felt guilty. This wasn't me. I wanted to say sorry to her, but when we got outside where the music was barely heard and the lights were nowhere to be seen, my whole world just went spinning like crazy.
3rd Person's POV
Mia would have fallen to the ground if it wasn't for Alex's reflexes. He had caught her in his arms before she landed. "Mia, come on. Stand up." Alex lightly tapped her cheek while his other arm supported her by the waist.
"My head hurts," she complained.
"If you can't walk then I'd have to carry you."
Mia may be drunk, but she clearly understood what he just said. And with that being said, she pushed him a little, trying to widen their gap. "No! I can walk."
"Good, let's go."
They walked with Alex beside Mia trying to assist her, and Alessia at the other side of Mia.
"If I knew this was going to happen, I should've never let her go," Alessia spoke, blaming herself.
"It's not your fault." Her brother tried to comfort her, but Alessia shook her head.
"You don't understand. She sounded so mad." Alessia's voice almost cracked, like she's about to cry. "She must've been bottling everything inside this whole time. I feel so sorry for her."
Alex's grip slightly tightened on Mia after hearing his sister.
"Go get your car and go home. I'm gonna bring her back to her apartment," Alex told Alessia when they got to the parking space. Alessia has been keeping his brother posted on every news about Mia.
Alex unlocked his car and assisted Mia in sitting on the passenger seat, together with her handbag.
Mia, on the other hand, wanted to argue but chose to just shut up. At her state, there's no sense in trying to protest, she won't have a chance plus Alessia would most probably listen to Alex.
The whole ride was quiet and Alex drove slowly, careful not to trigger some motion sickness on Mia. When they got to the basement of the condo, Alex had to assist Mia again to walk.
While waiting for the elevator, Alex asked Mia, "What floor is your unit?"
"Hm?" Mia staggered even when she's just standing so Alex went closer to her, hugging her and leaning her head to his chest.
