"The bravest you can do is be unafraid to feel."

~ ❀ ~

It had been 5 hours since Jungwoo had been pushed inside the emergency room, but there's still no sign of any doctors or nurses coming out anytime soon. Yukhei and Mrs. Kim were both silent, both anticipating for the best outcome of the treatment.

"I'm sorry." Yukhei suddenly looked at Mrs. Kim, who was smiling sadly at him.

"Uh, excuse me, but what?" The teenager asked, not sure if he heard it correctly. He stared unbelievingly at Mrs. Kim who was looking at him still.

"I said, I'm sorry. For everything mean I did to him and to you." Mrs. Kim clarified, not an ounce of sarcasm on her voice, she really meant it. For once, she actually cared about Jungwoo and Yukhei. "I was scared." She started talking, her eyes falling onto the floor. "I was scared that I'd be alone again, you know? Jungwoo's the last family I have, so... I used force to keep him to myself, but then you finally came. You're like the angel Jungwoo had been waiting for. It was like you swept him off his own feet and brought him to happiness."

Yukhei didn't know what to say, was he supposed to apologize? He didn't know what to do, so he stayed quiet, looking at Mrs. Kim who was staring at him with a small smile on her face. Yukhei smiled back at her, knowing that she needed a reassurance on this kind of situation. The teenager looked away for a mere second, before his eyes darted back towards the lady, when he felt a pair of dainty hands on his, carefully squeezing it.

"I'll buy us some food to eat for lunch. I'll be back." Mrs. Kim stood up and smiled once more at Yukhei before she turned around and walked to the direction where the canteen was located.

When she was finally out of sight, Yukhei inhaled and exhaled deeply, finally able to release the nervousness in him. Well, that was unexpected. He thought, before looking at the doors of the emergency once more. Maybe I should call the others to inform them about what happened. Then it hit him.

"Yanhao must be stressing out." He almost burst out laughing with the thought of a stressing and a worried Yanhao, he was probably pacing back and forth in the living room with a frown on his face, and possibly cursing Yukhei's whole existence.

A meal later, Jungwoo's friends finally arrived. All of them looked like they just woke up, and just ran straight into the hospital, knowing Jungwoo's defying all odds. The 7 sat on the opposite side of the room, all of them staring at the odd pair just a few feet away from them. They knew Mrs. Kim as the abusive and strict mother, but this side of her was unbeknownst to the teenagers.

"Boys," Mrs. Kim called out, almost making the seven jump out of their skin. "Jungwoo's gonna be fine, don't worry."

"A blood-relative, please?" A deep voice called, the nine people looked at the doctor in anticipation, hoping for the best.

"Uh, here, I'm his Mother." Mrs. Kim stood up, looking at the doctor as her heart raced inside her ribcage, her palms were sweating and shaking at the same time.

"Good news, we finally stabilized his condition. He was severely injured because of the fire and debris that fell over him, but as I said, he's stable now..." The doctor pushed his hands inside his robe and took a deep breath.

"Is that the only thing, Doctor?" Yukhei asked, licking his lips and breathing deeply, too. The doctor did not answer, and it only made the tension inside the Waiting Room thicker, and everyone could feel it.

"He had a brain hemorrhage because of the things that fell over him," The man started slowly, exhaling as he paused to look at the Mother and friends of his current patient. "And now, he's currently on comatose. We're trying our best to find a way to treat him, I promise this is the best possible way for him to still be alive."

"He'll w-wake up, r-right?" Jaemin asked, his voice shaking as he swallowed the lump in his throat. He, no, they hoped that the doctor would nod or give them a reassuring smile. But the doctor did neither of these, he cleared his throat and looked at the nine people, bowing quickly before saying.

"Pray, and talk to him. Those two will help. Excuse me." The doctor finally left, leaving the people inside the room baffled and overthinking. Mrs. Kim took a deep breath and fell back onto the chair she was sitting on, moments ago.

The teenagers were quiet, all feeling the same fear and grief as each other. But they didn't cry, they wouldn't. They all know Jungwoo had been through a lot, and they know that Jungwoo can fight this. Like he had been for the past few years, especially when his sister walked out of his life.

"Dad?" Jungwoo said, his voice somehow echoing, even if they were by the beach. On the shoreline to be exact. "Dad, where are you going? Don't leave me here... Alone." His voice faded off, like it was going with the unseen wind.

"Do you want to come with me instead? In my place, everything is alright. No more problems, it's serene and peaceful there. Do you want to?" His Dad answered, folding his hand out for Jungwoo to take, but just as Jungwoo was about to place his hand on his Dad's, a strong electrical spark went inside him. Knocking him off his feet and making him fall to the sand, and then everything turned black.
