I sighed and spammed the backspace button on my laptop keyboard until the line that I had just typed disappeared off the document. It just hadn't sounded right. Well, it hadn't looked right. I tried typing a similar sentence again, only to decide to delete it again. I hated having writer's block. The worst part was that it usually stuck for hours. Sometimes, it even stuck for days. I was going to get angry. I knew it. I always did when I had writers block.

Something extremely cold pressed against the back of my neck, making me squeal and jump a bit. I hated the sound I made, and that feeling of sharp coldness on that part of my body. The back of my neck was a sensitive spot, and he knew that. Lucas laughed, coming around the chair where I was sitting and chose to sit on the end of the settee nearest me so he could easily see my laptop screen. "That really looks like your school work."

"Well, I was waiting for you to come back and help me. I just chose to do something else to pass the time." I admitted, mashing the keyboard before deleting what I had mashed. It was the first sign that I was getting annoyed because of my writers block. Lucas just looked at me. "I have stupid writers block, anyway. I may as well work on my school stuff now. I'll come back to this later. It might give me a new perspective on my book."

"It can't be that bad. Let's do some of your work and see if inspiration sparks." Lucas suggested, handing me the bottle of coke that he had put on the back of my neck. Then he pulled one out of the carrier bag for himself. It was weird that he expected me to get book inspiration from doing my school work. Oh well, it couldn't hurt to get my homework done and out of the way. "So, since we're going to be getting on with your homework, where do you want to start?"

"Ugh. If we start with the worst of my subjects, then it would be History. The assignment was to pick something from the list and research it. I picked Norse Mythology because I would've needed to research it for my book idea, anyway." I explained, pulling up the assignment on my laptop and sitting in front of Lucas on the floor. He leaned forward to read my assignment, resting his chin on my head. Then, I thought that I might actually get an idea from my History assignment that would help with my book. "I tried doing the best as I could and managed to reach the word count but I was hoping that you could have a quick read through since you know a lot about Norse mythology."

"No worries. How long is this thing?" He asked. I flipped to the history project and handed the laptop over to Lucas. He took the laptop and set it on his lap. He started reading the introduction chapter while he was waiting for my answer. He clearly didn't realise how much I liked to write.

"We had to write ten pages for the assignment, but I did eleven because I was in the flow." I admitted, picking up my book to read while he read through my assignment. It wasn't like I could use my laptop to write my book while he was on my laptop reading my assignment.

We were quiet as he read my assignment, the only sounds coming from him as he read. He usually did things like that to make me worry. It surprised me that it didn't actually take him long to read the whole thing. He went a little quiet when he had finished and he refused to look at me. It was driving me insane. "Well, what do you think?"

"You've managed mixed up these two gods in paragraphs three and four. If you just swap the names over then it is a really good essay. Personally, I'd give it an A, but it's not like I'm biased or anything." Lucas told me, pointing out the paragraphs that I had messed up as I took the laptop. I immediately began to change them. I knew he was joking about the biased thing. No matter how well he knew me, he was always honest with his reviews of my work. The way he'd spoken had reminded me that Lucas wanted to become a good teacher. I guessed I helped him a little with that over the past year by making him read all of my essays. Hopefully, I wasn't being a burden to him. "Oh, I have news, too. Remember when I applied for the one college that let me learn teaching and Norse mythology?"
