Chapter Ninety Three

I sat at the table and tried to finish off my maths homework. It was probably not the best time to be trying to complete it. Especially not when my butter could drop from my crumpet and land on my homework. "Tiffy, why are you doing your homework at breakfast?"

"Because I forgot to do it last night." I explained to my mother as I tried to figure out the equations on the paper. It was taking me longer than I thought it would. Then again, maths was not my strongest subject. I much preferred Art. In History, I only payed attention to the fashion of the times. "Also, it is due today."

"Why didn't you do this last night?" My father wondered, turning a page in his newspaper that he was reading. He insisted on reading a paper newspaper every day, no matter how many times I tried showing him how to use the tablet to get the latest news. "Or when it was given to you? You could have easily done it that evening."

"I had some other homework to do that night. Then, last night, I was sketching up some designs and I lost track of time." I answered, taking another bite of crumpet as I finished off the equation that I was working on. Then, I moved onto the next one, trying to work on it as quickly as possible. I didn't have long to go until I had to leave to get to school. I would probably need to finish is throughout the day. As long as it was before the lesson, then it didn't really matter.

I checked the time when I finished my last bite of breakfast, and I had actually ran out of time. I chucked my pen and homework into my bag and slung it onto my shoulder. I put my plate in the sink, grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge, and headed out of the door, shouting a 'goodbye' to my parents.

As I headed to school, I couldn't help but notice people's outfits as I walked, seeing some that I liked. Some of the outfits were great on this Monday morning, but some of them didn't match the body type of the people who were wearing them. I couldn't help but think of outfits that would suit them better. I'd love to be able to create outfits for all body types.

I bumped into Savannah once I got into town, which I always needed to walk to on my way to school. She was just heading into Tesco and I joined her, linking my arm through hers as we walked. "Hey, birthday girl, Happy Birthday. Is there any sign of a string yet?"

"Not just yet, but there might not be a large difference between our birthdays. I'm just going to be patient, and have to wait. Nothing else I can do." She replied, heading with me to one of the aisles we usually visited to get stuff for school. "Anyway, we can just look forward to your birthday this weekend and concentrate on that, so, if my string comes, it comes, if not, it will turn up one day. Until then, we can look forward to your house party."

"As long as you're alright with that. It shouldn't be too long until your string appears." I told her, grabbing one of the drinks from the shelf as she reached for her favourite drink as well. Then, we started heading to the fridge to grab our lunches for the day. "Don't forget that my dad doesn't know about that, so, we can't let slip to him that we're having a house party. It was kind of a nightmare that he got stuck on a business trip for my birthday weekend, but now I can finally have a house party."

"I know! I can't wait!" She nearly squealed, extremely happy that we were having a big party. I thought that she might be looking forward to my birthday party more than I was. I didn't mind, though. I liked it when my friends were happy. "It's going to be so good."

"I hope so. My older brother is picking the music because he's having a break from DJ'ing this weekend, so, it should be good." I explained as we started heading to the checkouts. After heading out of Tesco, it was definitely time that we all needed to get to school without being late. I saw a few people wearing our uniform as we headed in and I couldn't help but remember how terrible our uniform actually was. I could design one so much better for the students. "I just hope that people actually show up."
