Sneaking across the room as quietly as I could, I sat in my chair in the corner of the large space, bringing my knees up so my feet were on the edge of the cushion. My favourite spot in the whole house now that it was so crowded. I carefully put my tea on the little table next to me that held the phone, making sure that it didn't clang. I didn't want to wake the devil sleeping on the settee, and tried to see if my cereal was soggy enough not to crunch.

Nine am on a Sunday morning was the best time in this house as everyone was asleep. Except for me, at least. My body was in a routine from school all week and my little sister's alarm for her ballet lessons. Somehow, they had all managed to sleep in late on a Sunday, so, I had some time to myself. The house had been so hectic since my mum's friend had moved in, bringing her family with her. I had gone from having my own room to needing to share with my sister so that Sarah and Tom could share her room with their three year old daughter, Holly. Their seventeen year old son, Blake, on the other hand, was sleeping on the settee.

I carefully ate my cereal to not disturb him, attempting to also scroll through Facebook while I did so. Every time that I accidentally made a loud noise, I'd stop and watch him to see if he woke up. Luckily, I made it through most of the cereal before he even moved, just moving one of his arms over his head. I made it to the end of the bowl and started reading while I was still enjoying peace.

"What are you doing up so early on a Sunday?" Blake asked, his voice shattering the silence that had encased the room. I looked at him from my book, a little surprised that he had also woken up so early. I noticed that his phone was in his hand so he had checked that first.

"My body clock is in a routine now. Sorry if I woke you." I answered, not sure how this conversation was going to go. We hadn't really talked before, even though we'd been living under the same roof for a few weeks now. We just naturally seemed to avoid each other.

"No, it's fine. It was about time that my body woke up." He told me, sitting up. He glanced around, probably looking for something to do, before his eyes settled on the WiiU nestled under the TV. "Want to play some Wii?"

"Sure." I replied. He swung his feet from the settee and patted the seat next to him as I put my book to the side and grabbed the remote for the console as I walked across the room. I pasted the plain white controller to him, keeping the nicer red one for myself. It also meant that he had to deal with all the menus. "So, what game am I going to kick your butt in today?"

He just shrugged as I sat down next to him. Very helpful.

"I could kick your ass in Mario Kart since I'm the reigning champion in this house but I think we should just try playing Mario Bros. in co-op mode." I suggested, bringing my feet up and getting comfy as he dealt with the Wii menu. He shrugged and selected Mario Bros. from the menu. "I'll kick your butt in Mario Kart later."

"Ha! In your dreams. I'm a pro at Mario Kart. Later, I will be the one to kick your butt." He retorted, setting up the save and the players. We'd both be starting from scratch at the beginning. I didn't mind since it had been a while since I'd played so I needed a little refresh. "Just so you know, I plan on getting all the big coins in all the levels."

"I like that idea. I just need to know where they all are. Some of them are obvious, but some of them are stupidly difficult." I pointed out as the first level started.

"Its fine, we'll get them all." He told me.

It was over an hour later that there was any movement upstairs. The little movement seemed to cause a chain reaction, the sound of movement increasing with every additional person that woke up. That would mean that we were going to lose the TV. I didn't really mind since we'd already completed the first two worlds. We had been tempted to re-play the levels we didn't get three stars on but we quickly changed our minds on that one when we started losing lives trying to find them.
