I don't remember how I got to the room that Toby is sleeping in, but I couldn't hide the tears away as I leaned up against the door frame staring at my little Toby who managed to stay asleep with me yelling. I felt a soft hand on my shoulder making me peer up into Lilly's baby blue eyes who looked sad, Lilly wasn't one of those kinds of person who expressed her sadness so openly, so having her stare down at my teary eyes through my thick framed glasses was a change.
" You know if he does dies, that would mean I never got to say goodbye." I stare up at Lilly taken back by her dark words.
"What?" I had to make sure I heard what Lilly said, I just feel as if maybe I dreamed for just a second.
" Isn't that what you're supposed to say when someone's sad? To mourn together?" She gestures with her hands- I couldn't help but wipe my tears away as I laughed softly. I think my sadness is getting to me. When I think I'm broken with sadness, Lilly manages to crack me up with her silliness.
" Um, not quite. Who told you that?"
" Tally and Ryan." I shrug my shoulders, I think she might've been on her phone while listening to her sister. I'm almost positive they wouldn't say that- quite the opposite I'm afraid.
" Well, the next time there's sadness just flip your sentence around," I smiled up at her as she made me see the joy. I pat her shoulder softly as I entered one of the guests room, slowly walking over to where Toby laid sound asleep, I gently placed my hand onto his cold shoulder before lifting up the blankets high enough to cover his shoulders.
" I'm so grateful that you are sleeping through this Toby." I whispered softly brushing my lips against his forehead as I get up and eventually tip-toeing out of the room to join back with Lilly and Tally. I walked into the kitchen to see Lucas eating a PBJ along with a cup of orange juice on one of the high chairs while Ryan softly spoke on the phone by the sink before ending the call just as I sat down by Lucas.
He nods towards his sandwich "Want one?" I mumbled a 'no thank you,' not having an appetite after Roy's seizure.
" What did his doctor say?" I looked up at Ryan pleading to myself that the news wouldn't be bad, but with having two back to back seizures you're never too sure of yourself.
" Well his doctor is concerned, but she said once he takes his medicine he'll be fine since this only happened from swimming for too long along with having not eaten much and then forgetting to take his medicine- it was just a combination."
" Okay, so he'll be alright yeah?" He nods making a huge weight over my shoulders disappear as I feel my smiley self returning.
" This is great news!" I smiled as I jumped out of my seat to go tell the twins.
" Uh, you wouldn't know where the twins are would you?" I smile sheepishly as he motions that they're upstairs I take off running out of pure excitement that Roy would be okay.
" Tally, Lilly!" I yell as I pound my feet up the stairs before dashing into their room where I heard them say 'yeah?' I slam the door open slightly cringing at how hard it hit the wall.
I mumbled a sorry before grinning like a mad women," Roy is gonna be okay! Ryan just got off the phone with his doctor. Isn't that great news?!" I smiled widely as I sat down besides Tally as Lilly was showing her dresses wanting her to pick one that would suit her best.
" Everything IS NOT okay! I can't find a single pretty looking dress for tonight." Lilly frowns as she tosses the dress she's holding off to a huge pile to her left.
" Oh, what's going on later tonight? Isn't it almost ten at night?" I question, going out would be chilly!
" We were thinking of having a movie night, for celebrating on Roy being okay." I nodded happily, it seemed like a good celebration plan."
