I walked off of the arena with my brothers and cousins when I heard someone yelling my name. I looked up to see Jethro and Eva waving frantically at me. I smiled and then gave a small wave. Once inside I met up with the twins.
"So what did you get for your first Trial?" they asked at the same time.
"Bamboo Cross." I sighed.
"That doesn't seem too bad." Erick smiled.
"Do you have to like jump from one bamboo to the other?" Derrick asked.
I nodded but sighed at the same time, "J.J. explained that not only do I have to balance on a vertical bamboo but I have to do it in a time limit before the fire burns the wood. Plus if I fall not only will I be burned but stabbed to death by smoldering hot metal stakes at the bottom."
They both made a face, "When is it?"
"Forty-eight hours from now." I sighed again.
"Ouch."
"Bummer."
I nodded and let my head hang in defeat. "That means no sleeping tonight."
"Don't worry." Erick smiled.
"We'll stay up with you." Derrick said rubbing my shoulders.
"Thanks." I said.
"Hey look Jethro and Eva." The boys said.
I turned around and saw Jethro and Eva walking towards us. I waved like a retarded seal and started to walk over to them. Then a person was in my way. I slid to my right and lunged at Jethro.
"You broke free!" He said.
I nodded against his shoulder, "Sorry, I forgot to tell you."
"Doesn't matter now." He said.
I released him and looked at Eva, "YOU MISSY NEED A LOT OF CATCHIN' UP!"
Her eyes became wide, "What?"
Jethro took her hand, "I'll explain everything." They walked off.
Aw how cute, I totally forgot that they were together.
I felt a hand clamp down on my shoulder and instantly I turned around grabbed the person and flipped them. He fell on his back and I placed my foot on his chest rather hard.
"Melody! It's me! Nate! Relax girl relax!" He said.
I giggled and helped him up. He got up and grabbed me. I screamed but he clasped his hand around my mouth and threw me over his shoulder.
"I'm going to train you so hard that your bones will be dust." He chuckled.

"Nate can we stop please?" I asked jumping from one bamboo to the other.
"No, now try doing flips and landing on your palm. You need to be as flexible as possible. Learn to shift your weight." He said with a stern voice.
I did just that but when I landed on my palm the bamboo started to lean to one side.
"Move!" Nate yelled.
I tried to push myself off and succeeded but I miss the edge off the bamboo and ended up falling to the floor. I landed with a thud and I looked at my leg and realized a long gash was created.
"Where's Adrian?" I asked getting up.
"Can't you heal yourself?" Nate said in an annoyed tone.
I shook my head, "Geez why so serious?"
