The air around us clapped, the creatures around us screamed, the Warriors around us stood, shocked at what was happening. Roars and growling created tremors in the air as two figures, one white and one gold, twirled down the beams of energy. These weren't the translucent images I saw just hours ago. These were the real deal. Live in the flesh was Sol and Metzli.
Their presence was near unbearable. The glow that emitted from their scales was blinding, the energy felt was overbearing. You couldn't help but fall to your knees and bow to their power. That was exactly what all the Warriors did. Almost immediately, everyone (including some other creatures) took a knee and bowed.
"Dragons.." I breathed out. The sight was truly remarkable. Metzli was more beautiful in person than in dreams. Her scales were glistening white, her wings were twice the size of her body, her tail, long and nimble. Spikes went down her back and on her head, horns shaped like a crown. The color of her eyes were the same saphire blue as mine but clearly, more intense. You could literally say, the moon was in her eyes. The dignity and pride that was warped into her surroundings made her a Dragon to fear by all. I was in awe and without realizing it, I started to walk towards her, arms outstretched so that I could hold the one being that has giving me the power needed to survive today.
"Melody!" both my father and mother yelled. I stopped and turned to them, beaming with pride. That's when they realized Metzli was my Dragon. The shock in their eyes and face couldn't make me happier.
People were screaming and running, Warriors were kneeling, scared to anger the original two. I saw Blaze walking towards Sol. Another beautiful dragon who's features were completely different than Metzli's. He did not have wings, instead he had a large mane that trailed down his back to the tip of his flaming tail. Large horns were at the top of his skull and two long golden whiskers curled and floated around his nostrils. His talons were black and more deadlier than Metzli's. The length was almost twice as long as the moon dragon and so was his build but Metzli was taller with her elongated neck and massive wings. Stripes of red would show between the golden mane, giving off heat of the sun. His eyes were burning with a fire red, nothing like Blaze's. Speaking of, Blaze was already next to his Dragon, hand resting on the arm. He couldn't help but grin.
Silence. Sol's growl rippled through the area, causing a small tremor to happen. Those who were running slowed to a stop to look at the dragon. The only sound that was heard were the cries of children and their gaurdians doing their best to hush them.
Metzli moved her head to me, her snout nuzzled me softly for a few moments. Droping the axe in my hand, I instinctively held her, rubbing my cheek onto her. I didn't care about the sharp fangs that were literally inches away from my soft flesh. "You never answered." I muttered. I looked into the eyes of Metzli, trying to find the answer.
I needed to know if you had faith. Though it was little, it was enough for me to come. She then lifted her neck to look over the crowd. She began to speak, yet her lips did not move. I could hear her and I know the other Warriors heard her but I wonder...could the creatures hear her as well? It is not often we choose a Warrior to represent us. And I assure you, we do not make mistakes. It has not even been a year since I have chosen this child and her ability and strength has grown by leaps and bounds. I was aware of her situation and I, Metzli the Dragon of the Moon, forbids the punishment of death to this child.
We understand that we are breaking tradition, but we have spoke to the other Dragons concerning this situation. Sol intervened, he then gave a stern glance to Blaze. Neither the Sun Warrior and Moon Warrior were they supposed to enter the trials in the first place.
Blaze gave a sheepish grin and ruffled his hair while I looked to Metzli, "I didn't know that!!"
Hush child.
They will face their personal punishment by us. Sol continued. As of the trials, all events done by Blaze Kempt and Melody Ryuu are disqualified, all points are taken off.
Both Dragons gave a large exhale, steam rising from their noses. Soon the area was filled with steam causing a few screams. A low rumble started before it grew. A wave of heat blasted from the area where the Dragons were. The steam blew away and the Dragons were gone. Slowly people started to stand up, all their eyes were watching Blaze and I cautiously.
I looked over to Blaze and started to laugh, my adrenaline slowly subsiding. I walked over to him and gave him a large hug, "They did it!"
He was laughing too, "See I told you!"
I pulled away and ran to my brothers. Nate ran to me and hugged me with such ferocity, I thought I was going to break. He set me down and ruffled my hair, "That was crazy! Oh man, I almost shat my pants."
The twins came and each hugged me, their shadows jumping around.
"Shit, Mel!"
"Overboard much?"
I grinned and punched both of them in the arm, "And you all didn't believe me."
"Well...you had your doubts too, " Erick replied.
I shrugged, "Yeah but that was in the past. Did you see how awesome they are! Sheer power ahh it was so great!"
Adrian showed up with my parents and J.J. My mother was so relieved she ran up to me and would not let me go. Tears were rolling down her face. I'm pretty sure they were tears of happiness. My father was smiling and so was J.J. and Adrian.
"I'm impressed." My father said.
"Impressed?" I shrugged mom off. "Is that all you can say? My Dragon is one of the two most powerful Dragons and all you can say is that?"
"What he meant was, he's proud of you Mel. None of us never expected anyone in our clan to be chosen by either of those dragons. He's happy it was you. That's why he's impressed." J.J. said quickly.
My dad just laughed and pulled me into a hug, "He's on the dot with that."
"Yeah whatever." I hugged him back. We were surrounded by Warriors of all clans. I looked to my dad, "Uh, what now?"
He gently set me aside and walked up to one of the opposing clan members, "Well? You've heard the Dragons! Let's clean up and finish up the trials."
And there is your punishment. What punishment?
I heard Blaze give an unnecessarily loud groan.
You and Blaze get to clean up the arena. Just you two.
I ran a hand down my face and groaned. The twins gave me a confused look but they soon shifted their attention to the announcer. Her hair and clothes were in a disarray as she tried to get the attention of the remaining crowd. "Excuse me, everyone. I have been informed that we are all to leave the arena. Blaze Kempt and Melody Ryuu will be the ones to clean the mess."
Nate and the twins began to laugh, "That's your punishment for entering the Trials?"
"Hey I didn't even know we couldn't enter!" I whined.
"Well, we better get started!" Blaze said, wrapping an arm around my shoulder. "It's lame, no powers, no help. It's gonna be awhile."
I removed his arm and pushed him, "I still get my powers, you don't, ha!"
We started to push people out, after they were gone, we started clean up.
"So after this, what are you planning to do?" I asked while sweeping up some debris.
"We are gonna go live with the Dragons for a bit."
"Wait -- we?!" I gave him an incredulous look.
He grinned "Yeah! Now that we're together, the great Dragon duo has to train and prepare for our respective jobs!"
I groaned and sat down. "You got to be shitting me, I have to spend more time with you?"
Blaze strided over and hugged me, "Aw! Sweet sweet Mel. Yep! You get to spend precious time with me."
I groaned again. Great.

Welp! That's the end of Dragon Trials! I do have another story idea for Mel in the works but I'm still debating to start writing it out or not. But in the meantime, comment and let me know if I should continue or not :D
