"You can't drink in here, Yang." Ruby said, looking at the blonde with disapproval.
The brawler rolled her eyes, shaking the plastic bottle in her hand. "Just water. Cool it."
Her sister squinted. "Water, really? You sure it isn't vodka?"
"Geez, it's only 5:30." Yang complained.
"You underestimate your drinking habits." Ruby pointed out. "Nora keeps a calendar to keep track of when she's seen you drunk."
"Ok, fair point, I'll gave you that." The blonde replied, combing her hair back. She released a sigh before continuing. "I'm trying to be... I don't know, more responsible."
The brunette thought for a moment. "Interesting... I'm excited to see where it goes."
Yang chuckled to herself. "Yeah. Me too."
The door rang as someone walked in and Yang didn't even need to see who was wearing those heels to know that Ice Witch was here.
"Hey babe." Ruby said with a goofy grin. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm... Ruby, I was fired."
Yang turned around in shock and watched Weiss standing there, taking a deep breathe.
"My dad disapproves of our relationship and told me not to come back as long as we were together." She said firmly. "So I'm not going back."
Ruby blinked and stood in shock. "W-Weiss... you can't just... where are you going to work..?"
The ivory haired woman took in another breathe. "I could get a job at almost any big company. If I wanted to, I could take a position that's already full, but... I've been thinking about it and I'm going to work for Jaune's campaign."
Yang watched as Ruby and Weiss kept talking, seeing how devoted the Ice Witch really was as she refused any of Ruby's offers to keep them secret so she could work. Weiss refused a larger yearly salary than Yang would get in a lifetime, and all because she loved Ruby.
Before long, the blonde started seeing the ads around the city for "A fresh face in the political scene." She saw Jaune's face on every other corner and instantly know that wasn't because he was just a likable guy. Weiss was good at what she did.
"Yang, are you ok?"
The blonde looked up at Blake, sitting across the small table in the sandwich shop they stopped at for lunch.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm just thinking." Yang said, looking out the window at the light snow that was falling.
"About?"
Lots of things were on her mind. Weiss, Blake, Jaune, Ruby... Neo.
"Nothin' really, just trying to figure out how the Beowolves lost to the Jackrabbits at the last hockey game. I was sure they would demolish those assholes." Yang laughed.
Blake chuckled slightly, smiling at her girlfriend. "You're a dork, you know that?"
"Oh, you love it." Yang replied, getting up and stretching. "You done?"
"Yeah, you go on ahead, I'll pay the bill." The raven girl said.
"Fine, but next time I'm paying." She agreed, walking out of the shop.
The two of them were taking it slowly, which Yang most certainly was not used to, but was ok with. They spent most of their time together when not working, and tried to at least go to lunch together once a week if not some fancy dinner.
Except now Yang had time to herself where everyone else was busy. Ruby and Ren were at the cafe, Blake was working on a restaurant in the city she was setting up, and Roman was working a guard detail for Jaune's campaign. Everyone else said they were busy too, leaving Yang feeling like she needed to finish something.
The door opened after a few knocks and Neo looked out of it seeming like a zombie... or a college kid with too many classes.
Her eyes had dark bags under them and she was wearing a wrinkled pair of pink pajama shorts with a white tank top, one brown sock finishing the whole look.
She was so tired and messed up she didn't realize who it was for several seconds, but when her eyes widened and she was instantly more alert, Neo tried slamming the door shut, only to have Yang's foot jammed in the way.
"I... I wanna talk." She said quietly, not looking at Neo. "We really actually need to talk."
The small girl tried to push the door closed with all her force, but it didn't budge and inch, and she eventually just gave up, sighing and walking over to the couch.
Make yourself at home I guess... She signed, knowing Yang had no idea what she was saying. Not like I have a choice in the matter...
The blonde made her way over, slowly sitting down on the far side of the couch. She didn't speak at first, only staying still, uncomfortable and confused.
"I wanted to say sorry..."
Neo raised a brow at her, waiting for Yang to continue.
"I... I didn't think about you as much as I should have." She started, taking the signal to keep talking. "I just thought about my own needs and what I wanted and didn't take even a second to ask what you wanted."
Neo started to sign something, but Yang gently placed her hands over the smaller girl's.
"I need to keep going... or this will just be harder and harder to say."
