"Yang, you should get some rest."

The blonde shrugged, sitting on the couch in Blake's massive living room. "Sure." She replied, simply laying down right there.

Blake frowned at her. "Get your ass up right now."

Yang turned and looked at the woman with a surprised expression. "Excuse me?"

"Get your ass off my couch." The raven haired girl restated. "Get in my bed."

The blonde almost wanted to make a comment, but decided it was best not to. "Yes ma'am."

As she stood up, Blake grabbed her wrist and dragged her over to the bedroom, pushing her onto the bed.

"I'm not sure if you're being concerned for me or if you're trying to dominate me." Yang finally said.

The rich businesswoman narrowed her eyes. "Yes."

"I am surprisingly ok with this."

"Not funny, Nora." Ren snapped, then turned back to Ruby. "She'll be ok. I promise you, the doctors are doing everything they can."

Ruby didn't bother responding, just chose to rub Weiss' hand as she slept. "She's so beautiful... I miss her."

"It'll be fine, she'll be ok." Nora said, patting the brunette on the back. "She won't stay quiet for too long."

The door burst open and Neo ran in, out of breath and wearing a face of concern. Ruby?

"Hey, Neo." The girl muttered. "How ya doin'?"

The small girl tackled Ruby in a tight hug, not even trying to tell her everything was fine, but just trying to make her feel comfortable.

Ruby wrapped her arms around Neo, tears starting to fall from her eyes. "She could've stayed home. She didn't need to be there, she could've just sleep in and cuddled or gone to the Cookies and hung out or... or anything..."

Neo nodded, squeezing tighter and holding Ruby against her chest and letting her cry. Neither of them tried to say anything, they both knew Ruby needed this time to just let it all out.

"I-I'm sorry..." Nora whispered. "It wasn't a funny joke."

Ren placed a hand on her shoulder. "Just give her a bit." He said, leading them both out of the room.

Neo pulled away, quickly signing two words. Ice cream.

"That might help..." Ruby decided before looking back towards Weiss. "Can you bring it here? I... I wanna be here when she wakes up."

No. Neo signed firmly. You. Me. Ice cream. Now.

"Jeez, fine..." The brunette agrees reluctantly. "When did you get so pushy?"

When did you become dependent on anyone but yourself? Neo asked. You're gonna just mope in here like you don't like a life or are you gonna get frozen milky goodness with me?

"I feel like that wasn't a question." Ruby laughed. "Fine, I'll come."

Neo started walking away, turning around to rush Ruby, but stopping as she saw the girl with red tips whispering goodbye to Weiss and gently kissing her cheek.

"I'll see you soon."

"Jaune, you can't go now." Pyrrha reasoned. "It's too dangerous for you now, people are trying to hurt you."

The blond shook his head, his left arm in a sling and his check covered with medical padding. "I have to. People should know that Vale can not be intimidated by a group of brutes and thugs."

The redhead furiously stood up. "They aren't just random criminals! They're terrorists, they'll kill you!"

"Then they'll kill me while I'm standing up against them." He said, leaving Pyrrha with no chance at changing his mind.

She shook her head, frustrated with his stupid blind bravery. "Why is it that you're brave at the worst possible times?"

"I'd say this is the best time. I'm not giving up on this city no matter what people try to do to stop me." Jaune states firmly, opening the door to tell his assistant to set up a press conference.

Pyrrha sat down again, nervous about the days to come.

"This is crazy..."

"No, this is just the beginning." The man with crimson hair growled. "We've got a job to do, and it'll get done."

"Sir, is this really smart? What's he have that we need?!" The tan brunette asked, pacing back and forth.

"Money. Political influence. Information." The man replied. "Right now, he's a tool of the White Fang."

"But WHY?!"

Because why limit yourself to one flavor. Neo answered awkwardly with one hand, licking her ice cream. I get three in one.

"Red velvet is the best thought!" Ruby cried. "It's practically three flavors on its own!"

Neo rolled her eyes. Cake and cream cheese, only two.

The girl with red tips scoffed. "You're so lucky I don't wanna get up, or I'd kick your ass."

Kick the cripple, that's a great idea. The short brunette commented. Next you should bring an epileptic to a strobe club.

"Screw you, I will." Ruby laughed, standing up and wiping off her hands with a napkin.

Neo pushes up out of her chair, chuckling to herself as she did so. Thanks.

"For? You're the one that got me out of the hospital." The taller girl replied. "I needed this."

I needed my bestie back.

"Isn't that Torchwick's job?"

He's alright I guess. Neo answered with a smirk.

Ruby returned the expression. "You're just a little devil, aren't you?"

You know it. The heterochromatic girl signed, starting the walk back to the hospital.

The girl in red shook her head, following just behind, a sad smile on her face. "Maybe that gives you an advantage over the rest of us..."

Ok, I am alive, and here is an A/N.

This is the tipping point of the story, things falling more solidly into place as I have new goals forming and new places I need this to go to. Yang will have her own problems, but this is a populated world, and all these characters have issues to deal with.

The next chapters should be a little more organized than this one, this one being a set builder for the rest of the story to come. I hope you enjoy what you read here, and I hope you keep reading as long as I write.

I am yours truly and forever,
