Jaune paced back and forth backstage, shaking and rubbing his arms. "I can't do this! This is crazy! I can't do this!!"

"Yeah, you're probably right." Yang commented, leaning on the wall. "I promise I won't say called it when you fail miserably."

"Yang, please stop teasing him." Pyrrha requested calmly, forcing Jaune to stop moving so she could straighten his suit. "You'll be fine."

The mayoral candidate took a deep breath. "Right, yes, fine."

"Coffee." An intern said, handing Jaune the cup.

"Thank you, Linsey." He said, taking a sip. "I needed this."

Weiss peeked her head into the room, a soft smile on her face. "Mr Arc, you're up in two."

"Right, I-I think I'm ready to go." Jaune replied.

Yang smirked, pushing herself off the wall. "Showtime." She pressed the com button on her earpiece. "On in two, final check boys and girls. What do we have?"

"Watcher, in position."

"West side, all clear and in position."

"East side, quiet over here."

"Aaaaaand?" Yang asked, hearing a sigh over the speaker.

"And in position."

The blonde nodded, pleased in herself. "Thank you."

"Looks like a pretty massive crowd." Roman commented with obvious skepticism. "It'll take a lot to watch everyone here. You sure we can keep the kid safe?"

"People love him, I'm sure it'll be fine." Yang laughed. "Besides, Cinder put me in charge instead of coming herself, so obviously this isn't that important or dangerous."

"I guess so..." Torchwick replied.

Jaune stepped onto the stage, waving to the hundreds of people in the crowd, his bodyguard team watching from every possible angle.

"Hello everyone! I'm so happy so many of you are here to support this campaign." He started. "We're going to make history together. This is the beginning of something great, but that's all it is. A start."

"He's trying too hard." Yang muttered.

"Still has the people's attention, so it works I guess." Roman replied. "Hey, movement on the topside. Watcher, what's happened?"

The blonde snapped her head to look around, her eyes drifting along the rooftops.

"I don't see anything. You sure you~ Wait, western apartment building."

Yang looked over, her gaze stopping on what looked like two men looking through binoculars down on the crowd.

"What am I looking at, watcher?" She asked. "Give me some info."

"Two men in black, white animal masks. They don't appear to be armed, but I'll keep an eye on them." The team scout replied.

"Hey, two more masks on the west side." Another guard commented. "This guys look like trouble, Yang..."

"Hold, we can't act if they don't do anything dangerous." She hissed. "Hold!"

"GUN!!"

The next few moments went by in a flash. Yang sprinted out to get Jaune out of eyesight. The sound of screaming was filling her ears, but she had to help Jaune. The blonde practically threw him out of the way, just as a loud blast sounded and everything went dark.

When she came to, Yang could hear what sounded like an ambulance. People were screaming still, but it sounded more like shouting this time. Commands, not pleas.

Two EMTs came over with a gurney and a neck brace, putting it on her.

"Where's... Jaune..?" Yang asked.

One of the EMTs kept her from moving. "Don't worry, he's fine. You saved his life."

The blonde grunted in acknowledgment. "A-And Weiss.?"

"I'm not sure, but she's a strong lady. She'll be fine." He said as they got Yang onto the gurney. "Just don't move. You'll be ok."

The two lifted her up and started moving to an Ambulance, pushing her inside.

"What.. happened.?"

The EMT hesitated for a minute. "A bomb went off." He said. "You'll hear about it later~"

The blonde tried to listen, but her vision just kept getting darker and blurrier.

"~re losing h~"

Harder to focus.

"~eed to stop the ble~"

Harder to see or hear.

Everything went black.

"Don't leave me, Yang..."

"B-Blake..?" The she whispered. "Where am... Where am I going..?"

"You're not going anywhere." The raven haired woman said firmly, taking Yang's hand. "You're staying right here with me. You're right here, baby."

The blonde blinked a few times. "Is everyone ok..?"

Blake hesitated for a moment or two. "Yeah... Yeah, everyone's ok. Weiss was pretty hurt, but she's ok now..."

"Was anyone else hurt..?"

Silence.

"The attack killed a lot of people." She said. "A lot of people were hurt, but Ruby didn't show up until the police took over and Jaune was rushed out by his staff. Weiss got hurt when the bomb went off..."

"Bomb... What happened..?" Yang asked.

"I..." Blake stopped, seemingly swallowing some heavy object in her throat. "There was an attack by a group calling themselves The White Fang."

The girl took a deep breath.

"They set up a coordinated bombing of the event, multiple gunmen, and nearly twenty assailants." She explained. "The police don't have any real leads."

"Why are you crying, Blake..?"

The raven haired businesswoman felt her cheek and the stream of tears coming off from her eyes.

"Yang..."

She couldn't speak. She couldn't breathe. She couldn't think. She just couldn't handle this.

"Your arm..."
