Hi, y'all.

So I thought it was about time I updated this, so here it is.

I think at some point I asked if there was anything you'd like me to write down and someone suggested to write a mortal meets demigod kind of thing, so I wrote it. I wrote this some time ago actually. It s kind of short but whatever, I guess.

So, yeah.

Honestly, James thought "take your child to work" day was a waste of time. Why would anyone want children running around while you try to work?

He didn't say that out loud though, especially not in front of Noah, his little nephew. Really, the only reason he had offered to take James with him to work was to impress a certain blonde so she would say yes when he asked her out.

He held his nephew's hand as he walked towards the main lobby, hoping to catch a glimpse of the blonde beauty.

And he did. Even though they had known each other for a few months, she still took his breath away.

Annabeth Jackson was a mystery to everyone. She never really talked to anyone, she was always caught up with blueprints and even though she had started only a few months ago, she quickly became the boss's favorite. Everyone at the firm envied her because of that and the women disliked her even more because all the guys were after her. Several had tried asking her out, only to be rejected. She never gave them a reason, she just stared at them like they were crazy, said "no" and walked away.

But James decided to try and ask her out anyway. Maybe she would say yes this time. Besides, he had an adorable little kid by his side. What could possibly go wrong?

Annabeth was sitting on an armchair next to a dark haired little girl about 5 years old. Her niece, maybe?

As he got closer, James saw the little girl's eyes were a really nice shade of blue-green. Sea green, maybe? She was talking to Annabeth with great interest.

"...and I wanna be just like you when I grow up." The little girl was saying.

Annabeth laughed, smiling proudly at her.

James cleared his throat, preparing to drop the question.

"Hey, Annabeth."

She turned towards him, still smiling and said, "Hey, James," she looked down at Noah, who stood shyly at his side. "Who's this?"

"This is Noah, my nephew."

Annabeth smiled down at him, "It's nice to meet you, Noah. This is Sophia," she gestured to the girl besides her, "she's my-"

"Hey, Annabeth?" Liam, one of their co-workers called.

"Yeah?" Annabeth said.

"Do you have the blueprints for the Andrews?" He called.

"Yeah, they're in my office. I'll get them to you in a sec." She got up, smiling apologetically towards James.

"Well, it was nice meeting you, Noah. I'll see you later, James. Come on, Soph." She held the little girl's hand, walking towards the elevator.

They walked away and James couldn't help but admire the way her hips swayed when she walked, like she was doing it on purpose, the way-

"Uncle James, I'm hungry," Noah whined, tugging on his shirt.

James sighed. He would have to ask Annabeth out later.

James found Annabeth at the main lobby, again. She was texting someone on her phone, and she seemed to be waiting for someone.

Probably for him.

He walked up to her, holding Noah's hand. She noticed him and smiled, "Hey, again."

"Hey, Annabeth. So listen, I was thinking... Maybe someday you and I could-"

"Mommy, when's Daddy getting here?" Sophia cut in, tugging on Annabeth's arm.

"In a few minutes, Soph." Annabeth said.

"Mommy? Annabeth, this is your daughter?" James said, incredulously. She was way too young to have a daughter!

"Um, yeah," Annabeth looked at him like he was crazy, "You didn't know that?"

"What? No, I thought-"

"Daddy!" Sophia squealed, letting go of Annabeth's hand and running toward a guy entering the building.

The dark haired guy crouched down, opening his arms. The little girl excitedly ran into his arms and hugged him.

"Hey Soph!" The man said before picking her up and carrying her towards Annabeth.

As he neared, James realized how much Sophia resembled her dad. They both had the same playful sea green eyes and raven black hair. Out of the corner of his eye, James saw Annabeth grin widely at the two.

The guy kissed Annabeth's cheek, "Hey, Wise Girl."

"Hey, Percy," Annabeth smiled.

"Daddy, guess what?" Sophia asked excitedly.

"Hmm... Mommy's job is really boring?" Percy asked playfully.

The little girl in his arms shook her head and giggled, "Nuh-uh! I went upstairs to her office and it is so pretty! Can I decorate my room like that?"

Percy chuckled, "Sure, Soph."

James cleared his throat and Annabeth's smile faltered for a second, "Percy, this is James, one of my co-workers. James this is Percy, my husband."

"It's nice to meet you, James." Percy shook James's hand.

"Yeah, you too," he turned toward Annabeth, "I didn't know you were married."

"Really? We've actually been married for six years now." Annabeth said.

"You got married at 22?" James asked, surprised.

"Well," Percy placed Sophia back on her feet, "Why wait, you know? We started dating when we were sixteen." He looked at Annabeth and smiled, James could see it in his eyes that he was head-over-heels for her.

Annabeth cleared her throat after a second, her cheeks a light pink. "Anyway, what were you saying, James?"

"Oh, um, I was saying maybe one day you and I could, uh..." He trailed off when he glanced at Percy, who raised an eyebrow at him, "compare blueprints on Greek revival. I, uh, saw the blueprints you made for the Smiths and they were amazing."

Annabeth smiled proudly, "Yeah, sure. Anyway, we should get going, Percy."

"It was nice meeting you, James," Percy said. He took Sophia's hand and Annabeth's in the other.

Annabeth waved and as they walked away, James heard Sophia say, " Are we going to Camp, daddy?"

Percy laughed, "Yeah, Soph, we are."

James sighed in defeat. Then he noticed someone out of the corner of his eye and immediately straightened.

"Hey, Stephanie. Have you met my nephew?"
