Chapter 16

~~~Present Time~~~

The next day they had left for Brooklyn to a house the super soldier had bought right after his wedding with Sharon.It had been very difficult for Aurora for she had cried the whole ride their it was a miracle that Sharon didn't lay a hand on her not in front of the super soldier of course.Now,Steve laid back on his bed just as they were done unpacking,Sharon was in the kitchen putting away what was left.The super soldier starred up at the ceiling his mind going back to last night he knew that he had to start to forget about it, forget about him.

He had to focus on his wife and the child that they were having but somehow his mind always went back to him, wanting to be with him instead. By then he started hating himself even more, how could he be so selfish to Sharon?Why was he only thinking of what he was feeling and didn't put himself in her shoes, she might feel lonely the way he always keeps pushes her away just to be with Tony.Now that he was married with her he was determined to make their marriage work even if it meant that he had rip the brunette out his heart.He sighed closing his eyes his mind once again going back to yesterday....

****Flashback****

Steve and Tony walked out of the group meeting holding the mechanics hand, he smiled turning to look at him "You want go get something to eat?"Tony nodded his head this time walking to a nearby cafe. The super solider held the door open for him as they walked inside and to a table at the corner of the diner,Steve pulled out a chair for him allowing him to sit down.He sat down across from him the smile never leaving his face. "You know Tony I'm really proud of you for taking this huge step. It's not easy to admit that you have a problem nevertheless getting help", "Thank you but I must admit that it was you that helped me.

If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have showed up to that meeting"Steve chuckled knowing what he was saying was not a lie.If he didn't have someone to accompany him he would stay home in his lab inventing something new to add to his Iron Man suit.The super soldier felt happy he could help him he would do anything for him "Your welcome, see I told you I was a good influence on you"he teased taking a sip from his water,Tony rolled his eyes laughing "Yeah right".They talked for what seems for hours laughing like little kids when finally deciding to head out, while they walked down the sidewalk Steve slowly grabbed the mechanic hand finally intertwining their fingers together.

Tony turned to look at him at first surprised but soon smiled staring down at ground, the super soldier chuckled for an instant staring at him in complete awed. He grinned as they continued to walk down the street and the memories of their fight and everything they had gone through this past few days were left in the past. They just enjoyed their company together for who knows when they would have this opportunity again, as they approached a park bench both men sat down not letting go of their intertwined fingers. 

Steve turned to admire him again without saying a word, the brunette felt his stare turning to look at him and smiled he leaned in slowly just the super soldier did the same sharing a small but intimate kiss. Steve pulled away quickly feeling guilty that he was possibly cheating on Sharon "Tony, you know how I feel about you. But you know this can't be not with Sharon in between" the mechanic nodded his head understanding even though he didn't like Sharon he understood that they couldn't be doing this she didn't deserve it "Yes I know.But if you change your mind I'll be at the Stark Tower"he mumbled getting up from the bench and walking home.That same night the super soldier found himself at the doorstep of the tower knocking on the door, spending the rest night with him.

****End Of Flashback*****

The door to Steve's room opened yet he kept staring up at the ceiling, he felt someone sit down next to him. It was Sharon.The super soldier didn't say anything. The last thing that he wanted was to speak to someone, he just wanted to be alone. Sharon placed a hand on his arm sighing "Steve are you not happy here with me?"she asked, the super soldier's distance finally taking a tow on her. She deserved to know why her husband was acting so weird ever since they got here. He was so distracted that he put the milk in a cupboard next to the fridge, the super soldier nodded his head. He couldn't be completely honest with her because if he did he would hurt her and that was the last thing that he wanted "Of course I am Sharon,I...I love you"

"Really?"she whispered a small smile forming on her face.Steve nodded his head, it was the only thing that he could come up with but that made her happy and that filled him with joy. This would be the start of a new era for them both, now more than ever he wanted to make their marriage work. For that to happen though he had to talk to Tony first what they did can't go unspoken by neither one of them.Steve smiled at his wife giving her a kiss on the lips standing up from the bed excusing himself down stairs.

He was surprised to see Aurora sitting on the couch all by herself with a frown on face, the super soldier walked over to her sitting down next to her startling her a little. "What's wrong darling?"Ari looked up at Steve pouting her lips "I miss my daddy"the super soldier sighed, hugging her tightly trying to comfort her.He knew how hard it must have been to make this huge sudden change for her.It was going to take some time for her to get used to being far away from the brunette.

He had no idea how long it was going to take for him to complete his sessions at rehab.But he was going to try to make her as comfortable as he could and try to have her get along with his wife, that was something that was really important for him now that he was starting a family with her.Sharon walked down the stairs frowning when she saw her husband on the couch hugging the brat he had with his ex boyfriend. "Steve leave her alone, if you spoil her then later she's going to become like her father"she sneered pulling Aurora away from his arms.

The super soldier glanced up at her with a glare, he didn't like that she made those kind of remarks of Tony in front of Aurora "Sharon please"she rolled her eyes yawning "Let's go to bed, br-I mean Ari you're gonna sleep here in the living room"Sharon gave her a blanket and a pillow going back up the stairs.Steve shook his head too tired to argue with her he gave Aurora a kiss on the cheek and went up to his room after all it had been a long day.
