The next two days went by rather quick. Raven acted like a friendly house pet and attempted to get adopted. Yet nobody adopted her and her time was running thin. She only had two days left to get adopted or it was the end of the road for her. Many humans came and went some chose a dog to take home some didn't. The shepherd whose name was Zuma got adopted yesterday evening leaving the kennel beside Raven bare. Her and Zeus the wrinkled reddish brown dog would occasionally have some small talk. He had the same amount of time as she did except he had his full term while Raven's got cut by two days. The lock of the front door of the pound could be heard. The pound was now open for business and it was time for Raven to act like an entirely different dog to get adopted.

Humans came and went as they had been for the past two days. Some would awe at her some would skip past her. It was almost closing time for the pound once more when a couple walked past her kennel. They looked at her smiling before crouching down to her level. "Do something really cute like a spin or something." Zeus whispered watching. He didn't want to see his new found friend die either. Raven took his advice and did a little spin yipping like a young dog.
The women giggled and looked to her mate before they looked at the employee who looked rather tired and wanted to go home. "We'll take her" the women spoke as she and her mate walked away to sign the paperwork.
Relief washed through Raven. She was getting adopted. Step one of getting back to the streets complete. She looks to Zeus. "I can't thank you enough for all your help. I pray you get adopted tomorrow." She whines emotion thick in her voice. Zeus nodded and tried not to seem sad knowing there is a chance he won't get adopted and will be destroyed. "Don't mention it. Enjoy your new home. At least for a little while before you escape." He looked at her. Raven stood there dumbfounded at what he just said. How did he know she was to escape back onto the streets. Before she could question him the people came back and clipped a collar and a lead on her. She yipped happily walking out of her kennel next to her temporary owners. She turned around once more whining look at Zeus. Before she turned around and headed out of the pound hopefully forever.

They arrived at a small quaint one story home with a small fenced in yard. Raven quickly noted that she would have to dig under the fence to escape. The humans drug her inside before unclipping the lead from her collar. She sniffed the air and was immediately on alert as she smelled another dog in the house. Growls tumbled through her body as a golden dog appeared lurking from the kitchen. The female human looked down onto Raven "No need to fright little one this is our other dog Sasha she means no harm." And with that the humans both walked to a room. Raven stopped growling and trotted up to the golden dog named Sasha. "I won't be in your home for long so I apologize for intruding on your turf." Raven stated rather proudly. Sasha gave her a confused look "what do you mean you won't be here long? My people just adopted you therefore you also live her now" She stated with a calm and steady voice looking at Raven. Raven rolled her eyes "I only got adopted so I could escape back to the streets. Back to my normal life. I'm no house pet like you" she spat at the golden dog. Sasha looked at her shocked she would say such a thing. "Being a house pet is great you know. I used to be a street dog to before I got picked up and taken to the pound. My humans adopted me and I swore it would be terrible as all the escaped house pets made it out to be on the street. Yet it's so amazing they take your for run and give you long belly rubs. Give you fresh food and water everyday. It's truly amazing what humans will do for their pets" Sasha stated before turning and jumping onto the couch laying her head between her paws. Raven grumbled before heading to the back door where there was a small cut out made in the door. She stared at it for a while before deciding to question. "What is this small thing made in the door?" She asked Sasha. Sasha hopped off the couch and came to see what she was asking. Sasha let out a small chuckle "That's what they call a dog door. It's so we can go in and out to use the bathroom watch." Sasha stuck her head out the dog door before propelling they rest of her body through. Raven did the same following her out back into the small yard with the greenest grass she had ever seen. "Wow" she breathed amazed by the beauty of the grass. She hopped off the porch onto the soft grass and began to roll in it laughing like a small pup. Sasha watched amused before joining her. When they were finished they were both covered in grass stains. Raven laughed looking at Sasha before they both headed back in.
The owners found their two dogs a mess and decided they needed a bath. "Your telling me they are putting me in that with water to clean me?" Raven questioned staring at the large white tub in front of her. Sasha nodded her head "it's quite enjoyable actually." She then jumped right in the tub as the female human began to wash her. Next was Raven who struggled a bit but finally gave up as the human scrubbed the grass and dirt from her fur.
Afterwards Sasha and Raven hopped up on the couch. Raven shivered with her still wet fur as Sasha was already dry. "Come here I'll warm you up" Sasha stated as Raven got up and laid beside Sasha and began to warm up. Raven smiled a little liking the sense of warmth and with that thought she drifted to sleep. Thoughts of escaping no where in her mind..
