The steady sound of a heart monitor could be heard as her ears flickered back and forth. The crisp air caused a shudder to run through her body. Her eyelids attempted to open as she was blinded by a white light.
She cringed as she felt the room become darker. Raven then tried to open her eyes again and became successful. She noticed a human studying her with a clipboard. Raven flipped over to her paws and attempted to stand but a searing pain was sent up through her back leg as she howled in agony.
The human nodded its head humming in appraisal. As the human was distracted Raven noticed a long thin white tube sticking out from under a pink bandage on her paw. While the human was still not looking Raven ripped the tube out. She bit her tongue to stop the yelp that so badly wanted to escape her.
The human with the clipboard left out a white door with a circular window at the top. Raven took this time to really take in her surroundings. Cages stacked on top of hers. Two large metal tables were in the center of the room. Next to each table instruments were lined up. Some were sharp some were pointy all looked dangerous.
A shudder went through her small body in which was fairly weak at the moment because of her injury. Raven began to wonder how she even ended up in this jail. Suddenly the memories before she was emerged in the darkness came flooding back to her in an instant rush causing her head to pound.
Did they really leave her here? Were they just trying to get rid of me? Why wouldn't they have just left me for Keesha to finish off if that were the case.
She was broken from her thoughts from a few taps at the window. She looked up to see a familiar brown wrinkled dog at the window causing her to yip in happiness.
She watched with very little patience as the male used his muscle to push the window in. The window thankfully landed on a pile of dog beds not making much noise.
Zeus hopped down and landed with a gentle thud on the tiled flooring. He trotted over to Ravens kennel his claws clacking on the tile sounding similar to a horses hooves.
"You didn't really think I'd leave behind my best bud did yah?" He chuckled his thick tail thrashing wildly through the air in excitement that he is about to save Raven. The tall male used his front hind legs to pin the metal bars still so they wouldn't move. He used his large snout to lift the latch carefully and quietly.
Raven carefully crawled out of the cold metal kennel and onto Zeus' large muscular back. Zeus then slowly walked back to the window. "I know you can't jump up there on your own. I'm gonna grab your scruff and toss you up there okay?" Raven nodded agreeing.
She braced for impact as she felt Zeus gently grip her small scruff and toss her onto the fluffy green grass. She whined a little at the impact and could hear Zeus muttering an apology.
He then jumped up with and umph as he pulled himself up. "We must hurry before they notice your gone" he spoke quickly lifting Raven back up on his back.
Raven used her front paws to grip onto to Zeus as he ran fast and swiftly only slowing down when he came to the tree line. After being in the forest for a while they finally came upon their camp. They must have moved to the forest for more protection. Raven pondered to herself.
As Zeus came to a stop he gently lifted Raven off his back as she hopped around holding her back leg up as it was still healing and she didn't want to strain it.
She looked around seeing Zuma laying in front of the den looking quite fluffier than usual. Before she could ponder anymore on it she felt Zeus' presence behind her. "Zuma is pregnant." She could quite literally feel the smile coming off of him. She quietly congratulated the two before she looked around for the dog she had been dying to see. Sasha.
She rounded the corner to find Sasha locker lips with a quite large pawed golden retriever. Raven could literally feel her heart breaking into two at the sight she let out a loud whine as she continued to gap at the two. Why did I even bother.. Raven thought painfully to herself as she could feel the dark consuming her again. The pounding of paws was the last thing she heard.
