Anger coerced through her body as she used the dog door at the back of the vets office. She could hear everyone calling out to her, but she ignored them and bursted out of the dog door at full speed. She fought herself not to look back and see their sorrow filled faces. She just couldn't bare to do it. She could feel her paws speeding up as she jumped into a full sprint. Where was she going? She had no damn clue. One thing was for sure.
Sasha was pregnant with Marteaus pups.
Raven ran for what felt like hours on end not stopping until her body literally made her collapse onto the ground. Her whole body felt numb like she was stabbed and thrown into the river and she felt like she was drowning, but she couldn't surface.
Crunches were sounded behind her she moved her head slightly but couldn't give a rats ass at the moment. All the felt was nothingness. Lonely. Nothingness.
The sound got closer causing still no interest to come from Raven as she lay still. Almost as if she were a corpse. The sound got so closer it was right next to her ear. She moves only her eyeballs to look up at a tall silvery dog standing above her. She lets out a long howl as Raven noticed a pink spiked collar around the dogs neck. Must be female. She thought.
She felt herself being lifted off the ground by human arms but she didn't care as she felt her limp body sway as they walked. The swaying caused her already tired body to become even more tired if that was at all even physically possible. Her eye lids slowly closed and she let darkness consume her.
••
Sunshine broke through the window as Raven stirred in her sleep opening her eyes some, but quickly shutting them once more as the brightness quite literally blinded her. She attempted once more and was successful in opening her eyes. She looked around to see a smallish house wooden floors and walls. Must be a Lincoln Log House as she once heard Sasha call it.
Sasha.
Her heart clenched in pain and sorrow as the broken pieces were laid all around waiting for someone to come pick them up, and put them back together with little bandaids. Just as soon as she was deep in thought she was broken out of it by a wet snout touching her leg.
Raven leaped up and immediately got into a defense position. Her hackles raised, ears flat against her head, tail held high, and teeth bared with a snarl. The dog whom had touched her looked shocked, but then started to chuckle.
"Why that's no way to treat your savior." The female silvery dog with the pink spiked collar said. Raven was familiar with this dog as the dog that found her collapsed in the wood. She let her defenses down slightly but was still ready to attack if need be. "How long was I out for?" Ravens hoarse voice came out as she needed a drink of water.
The silver female noticed this and pointed her snout to a bowl of water in the corner. Raven hopped off the plush dog bed she was on and trotted over to the bowl her nails clacking the entire way.
After being refreshed Raven returns back over to the silver dog who replies "3 days. You were quite out of it." She snorts and looks away causing Raven to roll her eyes. "Well I appreciate the hospitality, but I really must be going..." she trailed off
The silver dog tilts her head "back to the woods? That's not such a good idea. My human won't be very happy.."
Raven turns around quickly and gets in the silver dogs face "listen here I was trying to be nice but I honestly couldn't give two flying shots what you or your stupid human think! I just know I need to get back to my pack as I have a lot of stuff to deal with! Now if you would kindly show me the door I'll leave without a trace." Her lips curl up at the end and the silver dog gulps.
"Listen I really hate being a house dog and I promise PROMISE PROMISE I won't be a problem if you let me join your pack! Please Please!" The silver dog got on her belly in a submissive way and craned it to the side. Raven groans "get up. Now!" She snaps with authority causing the silver dog to stand up. "State your name"
The silver dog nods her head "My name is Lyla. I'm a purebred Weimaraner." She smiles with proudness showing off her pink spiked collar. "Okay Lyla. First thing if I allow you to come with me back to my pack there will be no annoying me on the way there. First warning and then your thrown out and not following me. Next you will not get involved with drama that is already happening. You will sit back and let it happen. Got it so far?" Raven snapped and Lyla nodded her head quickly.
"Good. Finally we street dogs don't wear-" Raven jumped up latching onto Lyla's pink spiked collar and snapping it off causing Lyla to gasp in shock. "B-But my collar!" Raven growled in annoyance "No buts! We also don't state a pedigree as we don't care on the streets. Understand?" The silver dog shakes her head once more but not with as much confidence as the first time.
"Good let's role out then. We have much ground to cover before sunset." Raven then begins out the door with Lyla right in tail. As they began their venture back to the pack.
