I wake up to the quiet buzz of a phone. When my eyes adjust to the light I find that my legs are intertwined with Emma's and her head is peacefully resting upon my bare chest.
She's in her Calvin's so her soft skin still touches mine and I find myself rubbing it satisfyingly with the pad of my thumb. That's when I notice the small bandages around my knuckles and sweet memories of the way she kissed each one before wrapping them warms my whole body.
I snap back into reality when I remember that the phone is still vibrating against my bedside table.
Reluctantly I bring my lips to Emma's ear and lightly peck my lips upon it before whispering,
"Baby your phone"
She stirs because I've come to notice that she is indeed a very light sleeper and slowly reaches over my body to pick up her phone and squint at the caller ID.
She sits herself back against my headboard while she brings the phone to her ear. I take this chance to cuddle deep into her side, slinging my arm around her waist like a teddy bear, burying my head into her chest. Her hand finds my hair and she plays with it as she talks
"Hey" she says sleepily into the phone
"Mhm who is it?" I mumble into her skin making it warm.
"It's your brother" she replies still massaging my head "you wanna say hi to cutest Dolan?" She teases pressing upon the speaker
"Um excuse me?" Grayson gasps now audibly for me to hear.
"Ahahahaha" I chuckle still facing into Emma's stomach "I'm the cutest and you're nottttt" I sing in a childish voice but I'm not sure anyone can hear it because I'm snuggled so deep into her.
"What's up?" She asks now fully awake and I groan at her alertness.
"I was just calling to tell you that I'm not coming home yet" I can practically hear him grinning through the phone. I guess he never came home after the party either seen as Emma never left my side.
"Ooooo get it Gracie" Emma giggles and he groans through the phone at the nickname.
"I also just wanted to make sure I told you that the world still needs you and that you mean so much to everyone....you know, just in case you're asleep when I return"
I move my head slightly to look up at Emma and notice that her eyes are a little softer and that her cheeks are a slight pink.
"Thank you" she mumbles
"Every day" he reminds and she breaks a small sad smile before ending the call and proceeding to run her fingers through my hair.
"What's that about?" I ask making a frown towards her, I know that from her facial expression that it's nothing overly positive she shakes her head and interlocks our fingers with her free hand.
"It's nothing" she whispers and I nod, acknowledging that maybe she just wasn't ready to tell me.
"You can tell me anything. I'm gonna be here, always" I assure her, bringing her hand to my lips to kiss it like the princess she is.
"Let's do something today" she suggests "let's go to a park or go swimming. Let's just do something fun"
"Then that we shall do, your highness" I smirk sitting up and bowing sarcastically, she throws her hand toward my chest and scowls.
"You" she points crawling towards me upon the bed "be nice" she threatens but it's the cutest fucking thing I've ever seen.
I let her crawl fully on top of me before I flip her over and pin down her hands while my legs hold down her thighs.
"I'm always nice to you" I pout and she scoffs "that's it" I gasp bringing my fingers down to tickle her waist as she thrashes around and bangs her fists down upon my back, squealing for me to stop.
Once I've stopped I place a deep kiss upon her lips and pull away only slightly so that our noses brush and our hot breaths mingle.
I'm so in love with her that I could keep kissing her face forever but I know my boundaries so instead I just stay attached to her eyes, only wishing that she'd allow me to keep kissing her until the world stops.
"Let's get ice creams too" she giggles and a smile breaks out on my face
"Yeah let's get ice creams" I repeat.
