The Alpha's Nanny

CHAPTER 2: A HUMAN?!!

"Alpha, we caught one of Denton's men. He's in the basement." One of the members from our allies tells me. 

"Take me to him." I tell him. 

We then begin to follow the man down the stairs to the dark cold and filthy basement and right in front of me is the guy chained to the wall who looks starved and dirty as well as covered in blood. 

"So you couldn't stay away?" The guy smirks. 

"Where's your Alpha?!" I demanded.

"Like I would ever tell you. You can torture me all you want but i'll never give up my alpha's location." He exclaims. 

"Alright. Then why don't you tell me his intentions with my pack and I?!" I ask. 

"Not telling you that either. But I will tell you that the last thing you'll hear are your daughter's cries and screams as you watch her die." He spits out blood in his mouth and looks at me again and starts to chuckle. 

That's when I went up to him and began throwing punches to his face and ribs and kept at it until my Beta pulled me off to hold me back. 

"That's enough alpha!" He tells me. 

I glare at him and then look back at the guy who brought us here. 

"Make sure you guy's send his alpha a message from me." I start to grin while looking back at the guy. 

"The last thing you're gonna hear are your screams." 

My beta and I then leave to start heading back home. 

Once we got onto the plane to begin heading back, I tried clearing my head so that by the time I saw my little princess. She wouldn't sense my anger or frustration. 

"How ya feeling?" My beta asks as he returns from the restroom. 

"Fine. Just can't wait to return home." I reply. 

"You know, he'll never get to her." He tries to assure me. 

"Yeah,." I reply while looking out the window. 

"What's wrong?" He asks. 

"I'm just afraid is all." I confess. 

"About what?" He asks me. 

"About Willow. I can't lose her." I stop myself as I feel my eyes begin to water. 

"Well don't worry. We'll all be there to help protect her. Besides, her training has been helping her a lot and as you already know, she's doing great." He reminds me. 

We then hear the captain tell us over the intercom that we'll be landing in ten minutes. So we leave the conversation at that. I'm only sentimental when it comes to Willow since she has had me wrapped around her finger since she was born. 

I of course don't regret the day she was born and am the luckiest father in the world. It's just that I know she wants a mom and had even told me she wanted one right before I left a couple of weeks ago. 

I couldn't explain to her why it wouldn't happen. Her mom who dropped her off one day and took off, since she was the first girl I had ever fallen for, she also taught me not to become blinded by love. So I have sworn off dating for the rest of my life, if Willow will let me get away with it that is. 

Once we landed and got into an Uber, I turned on my phone and noticed I had a missed call and a few texts from my cousin, Jezebel. 

She says that she has found a Nanny who is great and who Willow seems to really like. 

To be honest, I had forgotten all about needing to do that. I'm really glad that she was able to find somebody and so quickly. 

Once we pull up and get out of the car, I grab my bag and both beta and I start walking up towards the house and as soon as the front door opened with Willow running out expired and jumping into my arms. Both Beta and I got a big whiff of a beautiful scent, yet mixed with another scent that only humans possess. Wait a minute.....I thought to myself. 

"Hey daddy." Willow greets me with a kiss on my cheek. 

"Hello Pumpkin." I kissed her forehead and held her tightly."Oh how I've missed you. 

"I missed you too." She replies. "You're just in time, me and Aurora made dinner for you guys." She smiles. 

"Thanks." Beta winks and smiles at her. 

"Come on, come meet Aurora. She's vewry pwretty and rweal funny and nice." She exclaims while jumping down and taking my hand as we start heading inside. 

Once inside, the scent was stronger than the delicious smell of the food. Why the hell did Jezebel hire a human?!

"JEZEBEL?!!" I yell through mind-linking her and telling her to meet me in the office. 

So before meeting Aurora, I met up with Jezebel and as soon as she shut the door closed behind her, that's when I started. 

"What's the matter?" She asks. 

"What made you think you could bring in a HUMAN into this house?!" I yelled. 

"Oh don't you raise your voice at me, cousin. Besides, she was the only one that would take the job and most importantly, she was the only one that Willow liked and wanted. Also, don't lose your cool yet, she's a best friend of mine that...." She began to explain but I stopped her. 

"What?! You're best friends with a human?" I asked in an angrier tone. 

"Yeah. But don't worry, she doesn't know that we're werewolves." She states. 

"Oh gee, that makes everything much better." I reply sarcastically, throwing my arms in the air out of frustration. 

"Hey, you wanted a nanny and you've got one. Not to mention one of the best you'll ever find. Willow is beyond happy and as far as I'm concerned, I'm sure you'll find her not like other humans." She proclaims. 

"Pff. I doubt that." 

Her and I look at one another for a moment until finally, I realize she's right. Although my decision is being also made from the laughter I can hear coming from Willow in the kitchen. I don't have to like this girl. Just need her to help around here for a little bit and keep Willow happy and distracted enough until I can figure out this whole mess with Denton and his pack. 

Though to be honest, what makes me irritated about all of this is the fact that we have to be careful when we shift. 

I don't know how long this whole arrangement is gonna last knowing I have to restrict myself from shifting or exposing our kind to her-in MY house nonetheless.
