CHAPTER 10: Wait.....

ZANE

"We're done after this. This is more than what Aurora owes you. So stay the hell away from her and her brother as well as off my property." I tell Denton as I hand him the stack of money.

"You really think it'll be that easy?" He smirks.

"You know it is. We both know you wouldn't want to be embarrassed again in front of your pack." I smirk.

He scowls at me and clenches his teeth and hands into fists.

"You were lucky last time. Remember that you have come to me." He smirks.

"Whatever man, here's the money, now give me her brother." I tell him.

"Fine." He says. He then nods to his Beta who goes with another guy and comes back a couple of minutes later returns with this guy that is bloodied up, bruised and looks like he hasn't had a bath in a while.

"Ugh. Get him in the car." I tell one of my guys.

Looks like we'll have to stop by a motel or rest stop to get him cleaned up before we go back to the house and let Aurora see him.

"Okay then, we're done now." I tell him.

"For now." He says.

"No. For good." I tell him and he doesn't say anything back. He just continues to stare me down until I finally turn around to leave.

After getting in the car, we stop by some cheap ass hotel and he gets all cleaned up and when he comes walking out good as new, as soon as he gets in the car, I can't help but notice how 'quickly' his wounds seemed to have healed.

While driving back home after stopping by to get something to eat, I can't help but ask him.

"So uh, answer me something, Colt." I began as I kept looking in the rear view mirror and the road back and forth.

"Yeah?" He asks.

"Do you know who I am?" I ask.

"You're the guy who bailed me out and who my sister works for." He says.

"That's not what I meant and I'm not gonna ask you again." I tell him.

"Yes, I know who you are." He finally says.

"And who am I?" I ask.

"You're Alpha Zane. You're the top werewolf . Leader of an undefeated pack." He says.

"Good. Then you must know what you are." I smirk.

"What the hell is going on?" Shane asks me.

"He's a werewolf." I state.

"What? That's impossible." Shane says.

"Well he is one. I noticed the bite marks under your neck tattoo there of an eclipse." I say.

"But how is that possible? Aurora is human." Shane points out.

"She doesn't know." Colt says. "She's still human. I was bit one night when I was fifteen and she was only eleven. I thought werewolves were folklore and tall tales. I've tried so hard to keep her away from me because I don't want anything to happen to her because of me. Yet here she is, taking care of me." He laughs a little to himself.

There was a long moment of silence we all shared.

"Well listen, if you want, we can have you stay...." Shane started to offer him to stay with us but that wasn't going to happen.

Another moment of silence was shared between us until finally, Shane began asking Colt some questions and him as a werewolf and Shane even explained to him that it was illegal to turn others without permission. Then somehow we got into a fit of laughter and then the next thing I see is Aurora running up to Colt and throwing her arms around his neck and hugging him tightly.

I will admit that I was jealous that she wouldn't hug me like that. Well, I wouldn't blame her neither because of the way I've been acting. In which I know I need to change.

The next thing I see is them both walking out the back to talk.

Normally I don't like to eavesdrop but I was curious to hear what they were talking about.

One of the many great abilities for being an Alpha is the amazing high sense of hearing I can hear from miles away. So I hide out of plain sight as they start talking and when I heard her crying, my heart broke.

On one hand I was hurt because she was hurting. Then on the other hand, I was mad that he was hurting her. But then Shane explained to me why he was saying what he was to her

Then I did what I never thought I would do and that shocked the hell out of everyone, including me.

"Wait! You don't have to go!" I say.
