CHAPTER 31: My Mate Is Badass!!

ZANE

I was in my office going over several things with my Beta and Jezebel when I suddenly get mind linked by Colt.

"Alpha Zane! You need to come quick to the training field. Denton has killed several of your guys and is about to slaughter me and Aurora. I need you to take my sister. QUICK!" I mind link Denton.

"FUCK! WE'RE ON OUR WAY!" He growls.

"What is it?" Jezebel asks worried.

"Get everyone together and tell them to meet me in the training field! Aurora and Colt are in trouble. Stay here with Willow!" I tell her as I start sprinting out the back door through the woods and take the shortcut to the field. I swear if he touches her......

When I finally made it to the field, Colt and several of my guys were fighting with Denton's men and even Aurora was fighting.

The wolf that was fighting her was who I went after first as soon as I saw him throw her forcefully back a ways so that she hits a tree and breaks it in half from the hard impact.

I was able to slash the wolves' throat with my razor sharp claws.

Then I saw Denton and we started going after each other and our wolves were fighting for a while before I got to the point when I was almost through choking Denton to death until I heard a bloodcurdling scream. I looked behind me and saw Sheri holding a sharp silver blade against the side of Aurora's face with her other hand around her throat.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." She says.

I look at Aurora as does everyone else as they stop.

I then stand up and shift quickly back into my human form as did everyone else.

I didn't care I was nude even though everyone found a some clothes behind some trees and Colt even tosses me some. I get dressed quickly and then start walking closer after quickly looking behind and hearing Denton grunt in pain as Colt and a few of my other guys get him up and hold him.

"Sheri. Please." I began.

"Don't even try it." She says glaring at me. "You took everything from me. Even my daughter." She began.

"Sheri, you're the one who left." I start explaining.

"Yeah but whenever I tried to come back into her life, you always made sure that I didn't. Now she likes this one." She spits with disgust as she pulls roughly, Aurora's head back.

"Let her go. I only kept Willow from ever knowing you after I found out what you really were." I tell her.

"You have no idea the power our daughter holds. Nobody was ever there to tell me what to expect. You don't know what all she's capable of. So you need me." She smirks.

I look at Aurora and then back at Sheri again as I start walking closer towards them both slowly with my hands up in surrender and while mind linking Aurora telling her 'sorry'. Before then looking back at Sheri.

"You're right. I'm sorry. I never should have tried to keep you from her or try to even replace with a human." I say as I look at Aurora in disgust then back at Sheri.

"So what do you say you and I try and work something out? You know, for old time sake." I ask with a seductive cocked eyebrow.

She looks at me unsure if this is a trick or not.

"What about my mate? What about yours here?" She asks as she jerks Aurora's head again.

"We don't need them. You and I both know this whole bond-mate-thing is bullshit. Come on, you and me and Willow can become the most feared creatures together." I offer.

She continues looking at me as though she's still deciding if rather or not I'm tricking her or being serious.

I finally get close enough (a few feet away) and take a look at Aurora who has a confused and yet upset and sad look on her face. I wink at her and mind link her real quick to trust me.

Then that's when I look behind Sheri and start to grin as I notice a few other werewolves from another pack slowly approaching from behind her.

Then in a quick second, I shout, "NOW!!" And swiftly grab Aurora into my arms and we fall back onto the ground just as the wolf behind Sheri, jumps on her from behind and knocks her down and both him as well as a few others from his pack come running out of the woods and start tearing apart all of Denton's men until each one of their body parts are spread all across the field. The dead grass and ground is soaked in their blood shed and now, there is only one person that remains breathing.

I help Aurora up and after assuring me she's okay, we walk hand-in-hand over towards Denton.

"What do you want to do with him?" Beta Shane asks.

I look at Aurora.

"Ask your future Luna." I half smile at her.

She looks at me scared and yet unsure if she should be making the decision for his fate or not.

"Wow. Already gonna have that little bitch make your decisions for you? She's so weak." Denton coughs out and spits blood onto the ground in front of her feet.

"No matter what princess, I will always find a way to get to you and maybe even find a way to teach Willow a thing or two. He grins and then begins to chuckle in a sinister way.

I was about to shut him up for good when Aurora was suddenly out of my arms and goes up to him and in one swift move, she slashes his head right off of his body and spits on his headless corpse.

All of us, including me, look at her in disbelief but yet, amazement. My girl is fucking bad ass!!
