**FYI: Zane's Beta's name is not Wes, I changed it to Shane! :)**

AURORA

Was he really serious about paying off my brothers debt? Should I even have allowed that or agreed to it? A part of me feels like it's a good trade and this way I can keep my job. However, on the other hand, I am not sure that I should have trusted him with that.

It's been a couple days since we made that deal and I need to tell him quickly about what to do with my brother since he has no place to go.

So while Willow was at school today, I knocked on the office door and nobody answered. Then someone from the pack walked up to me.

"Looking for Alpha?" He asked.

"Yeah. I needed to ask him something." I reply.

"He's not here. He's actually meeting up with Denton. Something about him getting your brother?" He says.

"Does he have a cell on him? Can we call him real quick? It's important and I need to ask him something." I ask while trying not to sound too desperate.

"The Alpha doesn't like to be interrupted during a meeting." He laughs.

"But I need...." I stop myself as soon as I see the front door open and in walks Shane, Zane and my brother, Colt. Wait, my brother is here?

I excitedly ran towards my brother and hugged him while noticing I interrupted their laughing session and then heard a low growl coming from Zane. What the hell is his problem?! Pff, who fucking cares, my brother is here now.

"Oh my god I've missed you so much!" I tell him while trying to fight back tears.

"I know. I've missed you too sis. I'm glad you're okay." He says.

"Me?! I'm glad you're okay. And sorry it took so long for me to get you out of there." I tell him.

"It's not your fault. Come on, let's go outside and talk." He says sounding more serious which has me a little worried and scared.

"Okay." I reply.

We then start walking out and as I walk past Zane, I can see him still glaring at my brother and then at me.

When we get outside in the back, we sit down next to each other on the swings in the backyard here and we sway back and forth a little bit before he begins talking.

"Don't hate me Aurora." He begins.

"Why would you start with something like that?" I asked.

"Because I know that you have worked so hard in trying to protect me and always helped take care of me as well as even bail me out of trouble. I'm the older brother and I should have been doing that to you." He says.

"Hey, we're family and you're my best friend. You would do the same for me and you have been a great older brother." I try to reassure him.

He then looks away for a moment and wipes a tear from his eye.

"Aurora I can't keep doing this. I can't keep putting you in danger and there's still so much you still don't know that I can't tell you." He says before he sniffles.

"You're scaring me. What are you trying to tell me?" I asked.

"I need to go away. I need to stay away from you." He struggles to say.

"What are you saying? You don't want to be my brother anymore? Because if that's it then that is not just stupid and idiotic but also isn't gonna happen." I tell him.

"Aurora please. Don't make this harder than it needs to be." He states.

"Really? Harder than it needs to be? What has happened to you? What in the hell did Denton do to you to make you say these things?!" I asked trying to hold back my tears.

"I can't do this Aurora. I love you. You're my sister. And now it's my turn to protect you." He says as he stands up and slowly turns to me with tears falling from his eyes.

"Please don't leave me. You're all I have left." I began to plead while my vision got more and more blurry from filling up with tears.

"Aurora." He begins.

I cut him off by leaping out of the swing and wrapping my arms around him tightly and start crying on his shoulder.

"Please. You're all I have left. Please, stay with me. Or if Zane won't let you stay then we'll stay in a hotel or somewhere." I began.

Before another word was said between us, we heard somebody clear their throat and we looked to see Zane and Shane both standing side by side in the doorway to the back patio, looking at us.

I don't know rather to thank him or to strangle him as I start to think maybe he told my brother to tell me all of this and that he couldn't stay. I have so many mixed emotions right now either way.
