CHAPTER 26: I Promise Forever

ZANE

"FUCK!!!!" I growled out loud while pacing back and forth in my office and stop when I see Shane enter the room.

"Woah. What the hell is wrong bro?" He asks.

"I fucked up! I'm so fucked up! I'm the worst father! The worst mate and worst fucking Alpha ever!" I cry loudly.

"Hey calm down! What happened?" He asks me.

"It's over. I let Sheri fucking threaten me with hurting Willow and my mate." I cry to him after sitting down on the sofa across from my desk with my face in my hands as I just let it out.

He walks over to and takes a seat next to me.

"Calm down and talk to me." He says.

"Sheri last night, I tried kicking her out and when she refused, I threatened her and then she told me..." I stopped.

"What?" He asks.

"She told me what she REALLY was and what she was capable of. She even let me see what she can do to Willow and Aurora." I continue.

"What are you talking about? What do you mean?" He asks me.

"She has the ability to show people their deaths and to cause them pain. That's something Willow can do also." I tell him. "What I saw for Willow was bad but what I saw of what she could do to Aurora I just.....I literally felt pain and couldn't live with myself if I let that happen." I finish crying out.

"Wow." He says.

"I know." I reply.

*PUNCH*

I feel him punch me hard to my face, enough to catch me off guard and make me fall off the couch. We both stand up quickly.

"Forgive me Alpha but, until you bring back the ALPHA that we all know. You are nothing more than a coward." He states.

I try to move my jaw around and I want to hit him but I know that he's right.

"I should kick your ass for what you just did....but you're right. I've lost myself there for a moment. Thanks." I smirk at him.

"Welcome back. Besides, that's why I'm here." He winks.

"Now come here so I can kick your ass." I joke.

"No time. She's leaving." He says.

"What do you mean she's leaving?" I ask.

"Aurora has been packing and decided to leave." He begins as he walks towards the door.

"She can't leave." I say upset.

"Well then, go and get her and kick that fucking bitch out of here. We'll figure out what to do about her later." He says. "Oh and by the way, I think things couldn't get any worse if you tell her what we are." He says before opening the door and leaving.

I quickly try and pull myself together before walking out to go find Aurora but as soon as I walk out of my office, I feel someone punch me really hard from the side and I fly  through the sliding glass door in the back, landing on the grass. What the fuck?!

"What the hell?!" I protest and stand up to see her brother coming up to me and before I have time to react or stop him from him doing anything else, he punches me hard again.

"I warned you about hurting my fucking sister!" He yells. "Get up! I want to see your face while I'm breaking your fucking jaw!" He shouts.

My anger went away as I felt I deserved the pain. If anyone should be doing this, it should be him. He's right. I broke my promise. I deserve this.

"Go ahead. I understand. I deserve this." I tell him.

He punches me several more times and kicks me hard in the ribs and I just take it.

He then next kicks me in the head and everything then goes black.

I wake up to a swollen eye and a cracked rib as well as my head pounding in pain. Then the memories of all that I had let happen come back and my chest now feels a lot of pain.

I start to cough and tear up. How did I let my life get so fucked up? I found my mate and fucked up so much.

"I've never heard a man cry over a woman that wasn't in a book or movie." I hear the familiar soft voice that warms my heart and soul. Other than Willow.

I look to the right of me and see Aurora sitting on a chair beside the bed, looking at me.

"Hey." I wince in pain as I try to sit up.

"Don't move. You haven't healed yet. You should be better though by tomorrow the pack doctor said." She says.

I nod my head and then realize what she just said.

"Pack doctor?" I ask.

"Yeah. Colt and Jezebel told me everything. Well, and they both showed me what they look like." She says.

"I'm so sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I meant to that day after you woke up but Shane interrupted us." I explain. "Oh my god, Sheri!" I start to panic and try to get up while ignoring the pain.

"Lay back down. Shane, Colt and Jezebel all took care of her. Well, Willow did most of it but we'll explain later." She says as she pushes me back against the bed.

"Aurora. I love you. I didn't mean what I said and I want you to know that ever since I saw you that first day with Willow, I didn't see you as a nanny. I saw my little girl happy to be with a mother. And I know I fucked up and I know you might not trust me ever again or...." I get cut off by her wrapping her arms around my neck and smashing her lips onto mine.

Instantly I cup her face and kiss her back. Until we both stop to catch our breaths.

"I love you too. But I want you to know that just because I kissed you doesn't mean I forgive you entirely. You still have a lot of making up to do." She says.

"Anything you want baby, it's yours." I promise her.

"Even if it takes a year?" She asks.

"Even if it takes forever." I smile and then pull her back towards me and smash my lips against hers again.
