CHAPTER 6: I Swear If She......

I knew something had to be up with her and am glad that my buddy told me where she was at. I had to see for myself that she was really doing business with Denton.

Denton and I used to know each other when we were kids. In fact, we both did our Alpha training at the same time and are the same height as well.

One day he started doing business with the wrong kinds of people, most of them were humans and although he wanted to be an Alpha, he also has always been fascinated with humans that make lots of money by being their own bosses and being feared and respected. He always wanted money and believed he'd become better at being an alpha if he had done business with humans as well and since he grew up poor, he'd finally be rich. Then once he became greedy, that's when things turned for the worse and we became enemies.

Today I was working in my office and thinking about a few meetings that were coming up when I saw the door open a little and Willow pops her head in the room.

"Daddy?" I hear her.

"Yes Angel?" I smile.

"Can I talk to you?" She says.

"Of course. Come here." I tell her as I push my chair from the desk as she sits on my lap.

"Daddy, why did mom leave us and why do you bring that mean girl over?" She asks.

I knew the day would come when she would ask me about her mother and as far as when my FWB comes over, I'm thinking she already knows that we do more than sleep in bed next to each other.

You see, when I told Aurora that Willow and I tell each other everything, we do, but I've only just told her that my friend comes over when I feel lonely and just sleeps with me. I would never really tell her about what REALLY happens. But it seems she's caught on.

"Well...." I began. "To answer the first question, I honestly don't know. I wish I could tell you, but I can't. I'm sorry." I tell her with pain in my voice.

"It's okay daddy. I'm glad that you're my daddy and that you kept me." She smiles and tilts her head on my shoulder.

"It's an honor to be your father." I tell her before kissing her on the top of her head.

"So about that girl." She says.

"Yeah, sweetie, we don't just sleep next to each other but..." I started but she stops me.

"I know daddy. I may be six but, kids talk and there's this girl in my class that says her dad has a different girl every week each night and says that she has even seen him and the girls doing something gross." She says while making a disgusting face.

"Who is telling you all of that?" I asked.

"Her name is Cindy." She says.

"Hmm. Well, from now on, don't talk to Cindy." I tell her.

"Okay. But daddy, can you please not have her come over anymore? She is really mean." She tells me.

"I promise I won't." I smile at her.

She gets off my lap and leaves the office as I sit there a little longer before getting back to my work.

I'm glad that she was able to tell me how she has felt and the truth is that the last time the girl came over, I told her never to come back again.

In a way, I feel bad because I I never thought about her catching on so quickly for one thing but then for it to have bothered her, I feel like an idiot.

Normally I would give two shits in what anyone thought about me bringing home someone but, she's my daughter and I can't believe I let all that happen.

As I finish up signing a few things, I head out to see if Willow wants to have her seventh birthday next weekend at the water park that just opened up a few months ago and has been begging for me to take her to for a while now.

She was so excited after I told her and she ran up and hugged me tightly.

Then I heard my Beta, Shane come in and interrupt us.

"Sorry to interrupt but it's Denton, he wants to talk to you." He says.

"When?" I ask.

"Now. He's here." He says.

WTF!?! I thought to myself. Why the hell is he here? I swear if I find out Aurora was a part of inviting him here and she lied to me the other day, I will make her pay.
