Chapter 29

Leonardo Santiago's POV

I grab her wrist and pull a sobbing Dana into my room, closing the door after us.

I pull her into a hug and she sobs into my bare chest heavily.

"Shhh, baby tell me what's wrong?" I ask her gently, rubbing her back soothingly.

"It's, *hiccup* m-my brother" she tells me" and I feel my grip on her tighten slightly.

"What did he do?" I growl and she looks up at me.

"Leo, I'm fine" she tells me, wrapping her arms around my neck.

"What did he do?" I ask her again, looking into her eyes and she looks away.

He hold her face and make her look up at me and she flinches as if I'm about to hit her.

My heart stops.

"He's threatened you, hasn't he!" I whisper, angrily.

When she bites her lip and doesn't respond, I know she doesn't have the energy to lie to me.

I detach myself from her body, suddenly feeling dangerously angry.

I go into my clothes and pick out a shirt.

"Where is he?" I ask.

She gasps, realising what I'm about to do and she grabs my hand.

"Leo, please, no!" She says.

I look into her eyes and see fear written all over her face.

I know I shouldn't care so much, but I really do.

I feel pain when I see her upset and I want to rip the throat out of anybody that hurts her.

"Please, Leo stay here with me, I need you" she whispers.

I put my shirt back and I hold her.

She looks up at me, tears still in her eyes.

She says nothing, but looks at my lips.

"Thank you for wanting to defend me" she says, leaning towards me.

"It's... It's fine" I mutter.

She looks me in the eyes and grins a little.

"What? No, 'babe'?" She asks and I chuckle.

She is clearly trying to distract me.

"Okay then... Babe" I tease and she bites her lip.

"Are you gonna kiss me or not?" She asks softly.

I lean down and kiss her softly.

She sighs and kisses me back, wrapping her arms around my neck to pull me closer.

We continue kissing and I pick her up, letting her wrap her legs around my waist.

She giggles a little and I smirk, biting her lip slightly, asking for entrance.

I take her to my bed and I lay with her on it, arms on either side of her.

We continue making out for a while, and then she pulls away.

"I gotta tell you something" she says and I feel my heart skip.

Is she about to tell me the truth?

Because if she did...

This could actually work and she doesn't have to get hurt.

"Yes?" I ask her as nonchalantly as I can, but my heart is palpitating.

"Well..." she says and I chuckle.

"Come on, tell me!" I say, sitting up with her and sitting in front of her.

"Well, you know how I love you and you love me..." She says, taking my hands and I nod.

"What about it?" I ask.

"Well, you took me on a date, so I wanted to take you on one!" She announced, excitedly.

I feel myself deflate a little, but I chuckle.

"You're that excited, huh?" I ask and she nods.

"I got us reservations at a the new club!" She squeals excitedly and I laugh.

"I can't wait" I tell her.

"When?" I ask and she sits up, straddling me.

"Friday" She says tracing her fingertips down my chest, observing the tattoo there.

It says 'Dio, mio ​​salvatore' in cursive.
"What does it mean?" She asks.

I sigh.

"It means 'God my saviour'" I tell her, tracing invisible circles on her outter thigh.
"Why?" She asks and I grin.
"That's a story for another day" I say and she pouts.

"Fine" she mutters and I kiss her pouted lips.
"Leo..." she mutters.

"Dana" I respond, continuing to kiss her.

She giggles.
"If you don't stop constantly kissing me, we'll never leave this room' she says.

"Would that be so bad?" I ask and she falls silent.

The runs her hands through my hair.
"No, but your family is here" she says.

I smirk, but I allow it.

"Fine, fine"  I tell her.

She lays back down on my bed.

"Can I stay the night?" She asks and I nod my head yes.

"Sure you can baby" I respond, laying next to her.

I wrap my arms around her waist and I wait till she falls asleep, before I let myself do the same.
