Matéo Santiago's POV

"Baby, could you pass me that, please?" Ade asks, pointing at the butter next me.

I grab it and I'm about to give it to her, when I stop short, just to admire her.

Her skin glows with pregnancy. The babies will be here any day now, and I'm not leaving her side.

I know she feels a little smothered, but I don't care.

"Matty" she says, snapping me out of my thoughts.

She giggles.

"Are you okay baby?" She asks and I nod.

"Perfect" I say and I lean forwards.

"Can I get a kiss from my wife now?" I ask with a small grin.

She smirks.

"I dunno, can you?" She says, bringing her fork of food up to her mouth.

I grin and pull her in her chair towards me, making her shriek a little.

"Matéo, if I fall, I'm going to kill you!" She says.

"Hm, I'd like to see you try" I respond, kissing her ear, then her cheek, then her neck."

She smiles.

"You know I'm still a gang member right? If I wanted to kill you, my pregnant ass still could" she giggles.

"Do you really want to play that game with me?" I ask with a grin.

She giggles.

"The kids are still in the house!" She says.

"And?" I ask with a sly grin.

"That hasn't stopped us before has it?" I remind her.

She is about to respond, when I cut myself off, my attention moving to the door.

Leo walks through it, followed by a nervous looking Dana, who wears some of his clothes.

Dios mio.

(My God...)

"Good morning, baby how did you sleep?" Ade asks, our son.

"I slept well thank you momma" he responds, blushing a little bit.

He can never hide his emotions from his mother.

"You sleep good?" Ade asks Dana with a little smirk.

"Extremely" Dana responds, rather boldly.

I almost scoff.

The audacity!

"Come get some breakfast" she says, starting to stand up.

Before she can do it, I get up and grab some plates and hand it to them.

As Dana approaches me, I can see the fear on her face masked by confidence.

I nearly laugh.

I let them serve themselves so that I can go back to Ade.

They sit at the table and as if on cue, Jayla walks into the kitchen.

"Hey, family" She says chirpily.

She greets me with a hug and a kiss to the forehead and she greets Ade, kissing her cheek and giving her a small side squeeze.

We all start to eat in silence, before Leo speaks up.

"Me and Dana are back together" he says all at once.

Jayla and Ade exchange a glance and then burst out laughing, causing Leo to go slightly red.

"Baby, anybody with a set of ears could hear that you two are 'back together'" she says.

"It's really obvious" Jayla chirps in.

"Dad?" Leo says looking at me.

I shrug.

"It's a bad idea" I say.

"Matéo!" Ade says.

I turn to her.

"I'm serious, amoré! She damn near killed all of us and we still don't even know what to do with the boy! You have enough stress with Jerome and the twins and everything else in our life! Looking over your shoulder is the last thing we need!" I rant.

"You should know better!" I fume at my son.

"Sir- -" Dana starts nervously, but I cut her off.

"And you!" I yell, rounding on her.

"How do I know that you aren't back with my son to finish the job, huh?!" I ask.

"Dad!" Leo yells, but I continue.

"What if you are trying to hurt my family even more?!" I seethe.

"Dad, listen-!" Jayla pleads.

"Why the fuck should I trust- -"

"MATÉO!" Ade yells and I turn to face her.

She clutches the counter hard, holding her stomach with her other hand.

A pool of water is at her feet and it trails down her legs.

The colour has drained out of her skin a little and she looks fearful.

"The babies.... They're here!" She gasps.

My heart quickly plummets to the soles of my shoes.

Oh my God!

The babies are early!
