The White Lion

Chapter 1

"Alex your seat is right next to me," James says while looking at me with a stare telling to hurry and move, "come and sit do we can get going."

Once I took my seat the whole machine went to life it started to give us some rules that we all had to follow and if we didn't we would get Punished.
After we all agreed the commanders told us that we can not leave until we complete the simulation and use team work. Next thing I knew is that we had already failed three times and James kept telling me to be quiet.
"James we will never beat this by doing the same thing over and over again!" I try to tell home for the hundredth time.
"Alex just be quiet so I can focus!" His tone was demanding but not scary so I decided to push even further. Now we are in the middle fourth try and James was in complete control. He dogdes astroids one by one, but they seem to keep on coming and he crashes into the same spot from where we died last time.
"James we are suppose to be working on a team not three against one. If we where in space we would have been blown to dust. You need to take a different route." My voice seemed to scare John and Lily but not James. Just to shake him up a little bit.
"Fine if you're so smart why don't you do it." he said with a mocking voice. I had to think before I respond because of we switch positions we could get punished.
"You know what I will. John and Lily get ready; we are facing new terrain we have seen yet so be prepared for my voice." I say as I take the seat James was in and study what I should do.
"Are you ready, get set, go!" the screen beams to life as I see space start to form in front of my eyes. All the mixtures of the stars and lights blind me at first but I quickly adjust. I start to dodge astroid at every direction until we hit the "kill zone" and I make a hard left. I hear a bomb followed by Lily who is our technician, "thruster one is down! I can fix it manually but it might take some time!"
"How much time do you need?!" I ask as things start to get difficult.
"About three minutes at minimum!" Lily says which is followed by John screaming, "TWO FIGHTER SHIP APPEARED ON OUR RIGHT!"
"Lily I can get you two so hurry the clock has already started and James start shooting the fighters on out right from my station! John let us know if anything else shows up!" I respond while hearing "yes ma'am" from all of them. I had a little bit on pa ick thinking that we aren't going to make it, but we only had two meters left.
"ALL DONE!" Lily yelled while James said, "Both fighters has been taken care of." I sigh in relief and I make it passed the last astroid and we finished the level. We then all exit the machine to see all the commanders standing there with a shocked expression but I find Shiro with a excited one. Then I turn to see our instructor and I feel a pit start to form in my stomach.
"WHAT WERE YOU TWO THINKING SWITCHING UP LIKE IT WAS NO BIG DEAL!!! ALEX YOU NEED TO LEARN YOU PLACE AND LET JAMES FIGURE IT OUT FOR HIMSELF!!"
"Sorry it's just I hav-" I was cut off by James starting to speak.
"Sorry sir it was my fault. I asked her to do it since I clearly couldn't do it myself. I will take the punishment for the both of us." I look at him with a shocked look. Did he really just do that?! The commander accepted the offer and let us go. James walked faster than he normally does so I had to jog to catch up to him.
"James! Thanks for doing that....you know that I would have gladly shared or have taken all the blame."
"Its no big deal and plus I have to go do the punishment now. And the only reason is because you got us passed that level. Plus I know you where going to see Keith after this so I felt bad ruining your plans." He said while looking straight into my eyes.
Then I hug him. Like a big bear hug. "Thank you again! I'll see you tomorrow I guess!" I said while still hugging him. Then I quickly let go of him and ran off to find Shiro so he could drive me to Keith's place.
