She watched as Cassius all but ran out of the room.

For a moment, she took a deep breath and attempted to collect herself, before she slid off the stool and followed the direction Cassius had went. Her wolves trailed after her and, in the main foyer of the mansion, Reeve had barely been able to get through the front door before Cassius crashed into her, hugging her so tight it almost made her wince.

She stayed by the staircase, keeping her distance, and watched as Reeve practically melted into Cassius. It was hard having to face her demon head on, seeing how Reeve acted around others, and then remembering the fate of her childhood. She felt so conflicted, but in that moment, she just silently watched a reunion.

Cassius held onto Reeve for a few minutes and Reeve did the same. When they finally broke apart, Reeve appeared as though she was ready to cry. For a brief moment, they rested their foreheads together and simply breathed. Then, they broke into grins.

"I've missed you," Cassius said.

Reeve poked him, "I missed you, too. It feels so nice to be home."

Reeve stepped away from Cassius and greeted the other men in the foyer, including Leroy and Darren. She wondered if Reeve and Cassius were lovers. Then, Reeve's two black wolves wandered in, glancing around once, and then ambling directly towards the kitchen. They passed her, their eyes briefly lingering, and then they were gone. For now, they were the least of her worries, but she didn't have much time to react regardless.

Suddenly, Reeve's eyes flicked in her direction and they both froze.

She gulped and Reeve seemed to lose the joy she had seconds ago. Reeve broke eye contact first and turned away, Leroy glanced between the two of them, and Cassius frowned. Before anyone could do anything, Reeve hurried away into one of the hallways. Leroy followed, as did Fox and a handful of others, but Cassius stayed.

He stayed rooted to his spot, watching the others leave, and then he turned to her with a sigh.

"Come on," Cassius said, "I'll show you to your room."

She wordlessly followed Cassius up the flight of stairs. Upon passing the fourth door, Cassius pushed open the fifth and motioned her inside. Her wolves followed, spreading out into the room to take in all the scents, and she went directly to the bed.

"My room is right across the hall," Cassius explained as she sat down, "If you ever need anything, or have one of your nightmares, I'm not far away."

She gasped, eyes widening in surprise, "How do you know about my nightmares?"

"When Reeve called Leroy, she mentioned it," Cassius slowly sat down beside her, "She said she would hear you at night and she was worried."
