Reeve still hadn't moved.
The man was hesitant upon Reeve's silence, his eyes briefly flickered to the group behind Reeve and then back to Reeve, "You don't remember, do you?"
Reeve's voice was quiet, hoarse, "I...I don't."
"You were just an infant," He sighed, expression shaded in sorrow, "Its okay, you found something that led you here. The great news is, you appear conscious of your actions." She quickly glanced over at Leroy in confusion and noticed a small frown on his face, then turned her attention back to Reeve and the male.
"Conscious?" Reeve asked.
"Don't worry about it," His lips lifted into a warm smile, "My name is Remi and I'm your older brother. We're two years apart."
"Oh."
Remi took another step closer, no words were spoken but his yearning was clear. He released a breath that both of them seemed to be holding and then he was embracing Reeve. A small gasp of surprise left Reeve but within a few seconds, Reeve held onto Remi just as tight. Nobody dared to speak and break the moment. Somehow, she just knew it wasn't often that Reeve preferred physical contact. Maybe it was from the aura that Reeve emitted, it warned everyone to keep their distance, or maybe it was from something else that had happened to her.
Either way, Remi and Reeve broke apart in silence. Their eyes never left each others and she noticed how Remi's eyes briefly glowed brilliant silver, just like Reeve's. Something clenched in her stomach but she didn't feel threatened. Just like Reeve provoked more curiosity than fear in her lately. Finally, Remi turned his attention to them.
"Are these your friends?" He asked Reeve.
Reeve seemed to remember everyone and turned, "More of a family."
She almost fidgeted when Remi focused on her and his eyes glowed again, almost in the same exact way Reeve's had the first day they met in the forest. Remi suddenly seemed startled, "And her?" He asked Reeve.
Reeve's eyes focused on her, too, "She's our cousin, Mikica."
"Cousin.. wow, I thought all of those were gone," Remi said, then his expression twisted, "Why does she smell human?"
As quick as lightning, Reeve grabbed Remi's arm and spun them both away from her. They whispered something to each other, something she couldn't hear, and she turned to Leroy and Fox. They were both watching her, their eyes calculating and knowing. Cassius seemed to be uncomfortable, his green eyes avoiding her.
"What does he mean?" She asked.
Before anyone could avoid her question, Remi spoke again.
"Any family of Reeve's is family of mine," Remi grinned widely at them all, "Please, come in. Lee will be elated to have guests."
