It would have been the understatement of the century to say that everyone was excited, and she found herself just as excited, completely forgetting about Reeve.
As Cassius left the room to spread the news and gather a small group of men, per Leroy's request, she glanced at Reeve and for once didn't feel the fear creeping in. Her mind seemed to be on pause and she would resume at a later date. In that moment, she watched Reeve, and she found it hard to believe that the woman was responsible for her family's deaths. Reeve appeared as normal as anyone else in the room and she briefly questioned her own beliefs.
She was conflicted, as she always seemed to be as of late, but she brushed off the thoughts and listened to Leroy arranging a plan. The men in the room went over every scenario that could play out and Fox would occasionally send her glances, of which she liked to think that he was checking to make sure she wasn't freaking out over Reeve but she couldn't say for sure.
Moments later, Cassius barged back into the office. That grin that she grew to love was radiant as Cassius practically glowed in joy. He declared that the warriors were ready to move out and then he strode over to her with a smile.
"You ready?" Cassius teased.
"Ready as I'll ever be," She smiled back at him.
Leroy cleared his throat, "Excellent. The location is just an hour south, we should make it by two o'clock."
For a split second, everyone glanced at each other in the room. Their eyes displayed a mirage of questions and emotions, even her own as she made eye contact with Reeve. Reeve quickly looked away but not before a tiny smile attempted to crawl upon her face. She felt herself want to smile back because something told her they weren't as different as they thought.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Cassius exclaimed, pulling her towards the door, "My hair to turn white? Geesh, the century might pass before we get out the door."
She laughed, following Cassius down the hallway as the others trailed out behind her with small chuckles. They reached the main foyer, where her wolves were waiting with Reeve's two wolves, and the small group of men Cassius had gathered. She didn't even have a chance to pet her wolves because Cassius pulled her right out the front door.
"Wait," She said, glancing back.
Cassius read her mind, "They'll be okay," He winked at her, "Besides, they seem to be making great friends with General and Amigo."
It seemed that she had just blinked and breathed when suddenly she was cramped into a jeep and rolling through the forest. Cassius sat on her right and Fox sat on her left. Leroy was driving while Reeve sat in the passenger seat. Another jeep followed behind them.
