"Mikica, didn't you say you had cousins? Plural, as in more than one?" Leroy queried, after a generous amount of silence engulfed the room, and everyone's eyes snapped to her once again.
She could barely think, "Yeah, I think I had two cousins."
"Oh my god, there is another cousin," Cassius flipped out, "Guys, there is someone else!"
"Okay, okay, calm down." Darren said but his voice was anything but calm, as they all shared excited glances, and energy zipped through the room, igniting a curiosity within her. She had another cousin? For some reason, she felt like the lost pieces of a puzzle were finally fitting together.
"Reeve has family, blood family!" Cassius' voice rose in octaves, his chest heaved in his excitement, "Just wait until she hears. Holy shit, Reeve has family." He whispered the last part in disbelief.
"Yes," Leroy said, moving towards Darren's desk, "We have to find the other cousin, though, and we don't have much to go off of."
"We can do a blood search," Darren suggested, "But it could take a few weeks and the results aren't guaranteed."
One of the other males spoke up, "We could let Reeve track them down, she could do it in hours."
"We don't have anything to scent," Leroy shook his head, pulling out a laptop, "But we can start by checking the databases. There has to be something, right?"
Darren grimaced, "Reeve doesn't exist in the database, so any family directly related to her might not either."
"Let's see then," Leroy hummed, his fingers flying over the keyboard of the laptop, and within minutes he hacked into the database, just as Leon had done. She found herself creeping closer to the laptop to see the screen along with everyone else in the room. They were all excited to see the results and the room fell to silence.
Leroy searched several different names including her own and Reeve's, but when nothing immediately popped up on file, Leroy typed in a few other names she didn't recognize. They ended up on a file of an older deceased man with striking green eyes.
"Who is he?" She asked.
"Reeve's adoptive father," Cassius answered.
"We don't know who her actual parents are," Leroy added.
"That's kind of sad," She said and the others nodded in agreement.
Leroy let out a sigh of disappointment when the files kept coming up blank, "There is nothing. Someone tampered with the system."
"Leon had ran into the same thing," Harley said solemnly.
"Wait," Emmett blurted when Leroy was about to close out of the database. Everyone looked to the Gamma in surprise, "What's that?"
