Is there a character that you can relate with?
It had been a few weeks.
Winter was on the fast approach, the north wind growing increasingly cooler, and fall entered its final stages. Multicolored leaves rained from the trees with each rustle of wind and they floated through the air to blanket the browning ground, as if they could spare the color that was seeping from the world.
She spent a lot of time with Cassius, which was probably a bad influence on her, but she had far too much fun to say no. Better yet, one morning Cassius had the guts to pull a prank on Reeve, and she would admit it was the scariest thing she'd ever done. At the break of dawn, they crept towards Reeve's room.
"I don't think this is a good idea." She whispered.
"Shh!" Cassius whispered back, "Reeve has incredible hearing."
"She's going to kill us before we even get the chance." She insisted as they crept down the hallway, trying to avoid the creaking floorboards.
"Nah, its fun."
She rolled her eyes at his back, "I think our definitions of fun are different."
"Too late to back out." Cassius whispered even quieter than before.
She practically held her breath. He sent her a devious wink over his shoulder before he reached out and delicately turned the doorknob of Reeve's bedroom. Somehow, he managed to open the door without a single noise and she felt like the whole thing was a bad idea all over again. Reeve was curled up beneath her covers but it was General and Amigo who woke instantly, even without the noise, and both their ears were perked from either side of Reeve's bed. Their gazes questioning.
Cassius quickly lifted his finger to his lips, desperately begging the two Beta's to remain quiet. The two black wolves considered him, their eyes strayed to her, and then she swore both of them rolled their eyes upon seeing the markers gathered in their hands. General and Amigo tilted their heads to Reeve, as if asking silent forgiveness, and then they simultaneously laid their heads back down. That was all the permission Cassius needed and he advanced into the room.
He paused, sending a look over his shoulder at her, and she unfroze from her spot to tip-toe closer. It felt weird, sneaking up on Reeve. Finally, they were at Reeve's bedside. They shared facial expressions, Cassius barely containing his excitement, and they briefly, silently argued again, but then they agreed again and carefully pulled off the lids of the permanent markers they had brought along.
Cassius went right to work, he lightly drew a mustache on Reeve's upperlip and quirked the ends to make it ridiculous. She held her breath as she gently drew two large circles around Reeve's eyes, connecting them across Reeve's nose to make oversized glasses. Suddenly, Cassius froze. She glanced up at him in alarm.
